Destroying mail is an offense no question and theres no real defense but its got me thinking.
There is saying "going postal" from the united states
its a reference to breakdowns amongst postal workers. :hmmmm
in our current climate of management bullying ,indifference to our welfare, and general overwork
I think sadly we are going to see more instances of post workers of previous good record going off the rails.
it could be off with stress ,outbursts at work against customers or staff, any number of things!
somewhere behind this story was a manager who wasn't listening.

And a postie who couldn't be bothered to deliver the mail and ask for assistance. It's all too easy to blame circumstances, bullying, harassment, tiredness and a "gunner do it later" - I always called one of my relatives "Gunner" - not because he served in the artillery but because he was always gunner do this, or gunner do that, and of course never got round to it.

I would imagine she has higher qualifications than most of the people on here.
I also know that what is printed in the evening chronice is often exaggerated as far as it possibly can be, and so it would be quite ignorant of people to think that that is where the story starts and ends. Funnily enough, it isnt.

Whoever hasnt made a mistake before cast the first stone.No-one? Thought not.
Speaking as someone who is unwashed, uneducated, illiterate and probably illigitimate as well, the saying is,"Let him who is without sin cast the first stone." This is not to be confused with, "Let him who hath understanding reckon the Number of the Beast," which is a record by Iron Maiden.

Why does the report feel the need to mention she's slim?
Don't blame me, don't shame me, just because I'm the one to tell you.

Because it makes it sound like she would find the job more difficult. I myself am a small nay petite  woman, but I manage to do the job without resorting to the things this girl has. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure she must have been pretty desperate to do what she did but if I had an issue with bag weight I would have asked for a trolley, I have one, the golf trolley type and I use it if I feel I need it. Of course we don't know what the managers in her office are like, she might have been scared to ask or sick of asking for some help and took matters into her own hands and its just got out of control.

I don't know if it has been mentioned, many new starters get intimidated "if they don't perform or come up to standards" its been done time and time again, many established staff can tell the linos to rack off, newbies can't as they are in a more precarious position, especially more so if they are on a fixed term contract and risk it not bein grenewed if they are troublesome.

Its not so clear cut.

In regards to D2D's

In my office we dont go back after we finish our round so what would happen if doin D2D's on a Saturday and after completing your weeks worth you had some left over ( and I dont mean like the CLEAR leftover bundles you give to yer DOM who signs the form before you leave on your round last day of the D2D's )

Should they be left in drop box? Disposed of? Taken home?
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

This thread was on the back burner until you decided to comment, why don't you tell us the true story then? We can only go on the press report :cuppa
