Current State of alert?

Post by fedup postie »

Has the state of alert been raised in any offices following the events over the weekend?

I notice that the national state of alert for our country has been raised to critical.

Most Railway stations have armed guards present, plus stop and search operations have been put in place.

Two of the suspects have been arrested very close to where I live which is quite unsettling (Newcastle)

So, how are RM dealing with this? Will we stay on black special or will it raise to amber etc.

What do other people think?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

After the 09/11 terroism.. We had in E.L.M.C. Bomb threats every day and lovely little letters and packets coming thru the CFC,,, Straight from the pillow boxes... MMMMM lets think back??? Ohh nice one was the anthrax packets with talc powder in it every day for ages after.. Then silly pr**s putting sand and salt in postboxes and thinking it would look like the spoors.. MMMMM then packets of shite to Mr Blair and the heads of the MOD in whitehall... Nice... And one day a packet opened and a cloud like a mushroom came up and our stupid screw went running over and picked it up WITH GLOVES ON and ran it over to a waste paper bin and told us all to carry on working and he had SORTED IT!!! we just walked off the floor....

We got briefed buy a contamination unit from the old bill and the London Hospital next door... I tell ya i never thought i would be doing this kind of work when i came to RM....???? :so there I wonder if BIG AL or lil adam would like to pick up a letter with talc in it and not know if it was Anthrax as it split open as it came out of a bag????? MMMM nice work ahhhhh AL??? Fecking danger money we should of got!!! Algate East is only half a mile up the road.

It got the whollop of the train bombers and if i was only a few hours earlyer i would of been in it... One of the posties alledged to of been involved in the 7/7/ plot worked in ELMC... AS A DRIVER.... SAD WORLD WE LIVE IN...

Scotland watch out..... After the LOCKABEE PLANE DISASTER AND THE LAW IN SCOTLAND OF NOT PROVEN I SEE THE TERRORIST PICKING THAT MORE NOW. After Glasgow airport,, Anywhere could be next... NOT NICE IS IT!!!!! :d'oh! :mad

OUT

LETS BE CAREFUL OUT THERE,,,, :Applause :Applause :Applause :pray :pray :pray :pray :pray :pray

I ain`t scared of this `terror alert` up here. We get a wee bit of a fright at Paisley Airport on Saturday, and now all of a sudden there`s a controlled explosion in a different town every half hour.

Seems a bit like scaremongering and wooden spoon waving. Especially with `something` turning up outside a mosque all of a sudden. Hmmmm.

(Just an uneducated opinion.)
