SNP CONFERENCE CONDEMNS ROYAL MAIL STITCH UP

ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF LABOUR’S TORY AGENDA

The SNP conference has passed a topical resolution condemning moves by the Royal Mail and UK government to seek confrontation with the post office workers’ union – the Communications Workers Union – as a means to press ahead with privatization plans.

The revelations were outlined in Royal Mail documents obtained by the BBC's Newsnight showing the company planning to exclude union members in their plans to try and privatise the Royal Mail.

Welcoming the passing of the resolution Christina McKelvie MSP – the SNP Trade Union Group’s Parliamentary representative – said the disclosures highlighted why trade union members should dump the Labour party and ensure they did not pay a political levy to Labour.

Commenting Ms McKelvie said:

“This week’s revelations showing collusion between Royal Mail the Labour government to exclude the trade unions from their privatisation proposals expose the depths which the Labour party will now go. That they will provoke a dispute deliberately is shocking.

“It also shows the contempt they have for union members who have been funding the Labour party. Many of them I know will be looking at stopping those donations.

“Royal Mail must remain in public hands and the SNP will continue to fight for the retention of publicly-owned postal services.”

But you do have the option of voting for their UK partners within the european grouping they sit in.

The partner is The Green Party of England and Wales which like SNP has a offical trade union group.

Plaid Cymru also sit in the same EU grouping.

I use to be a Labour canvasser but alas no more thanks to Tony Bliar and Mr Brown!!
The likes of the SNP and Liberals will see a ten fold increase of the postworker and families votes, not to mention the reduction in the political levy paid to sustain them!
I opted out a couple of years ago when I saw the battle plans of the New labour!

New labour is like a watered down version of conservatism ,
SDP REMINDS ME OF LABOUR BEFORE ITS SOLD OUT /FORGOT ITS ROOTS.
i personally wouldn't advocate break away Scottish Independence as i think it would weaken the UK
but a measure of self determination is good for uk ironically as Scotland's free thinkers can only improve
westminster.

I've been a trade unionist and Labour voter/supporter/member all of my working life. I've served as a shop steward, not RM, for many years and been trusted enough by my colleagues to serve on wage negotiation and disciplinary appeals/tribunals, but the sad truth is that the only political party that I have ever voted for since my first vote in 1979 is no longer worthy of my endorsement, apologies if that sounds a tad pompous but it's from the heart.

I wasn't aware that the Greens are allied to Plaid Cymru and the SNP but with this information on board I'll seriously consider giving them my vote next time around.

It's shameful and upsetting to see what I've always regarded as my party/movement so openly coming out against working class people and trade union members at a time when we could reasonably expect those we supported through their darkest hours, the Thatcher years, to repay some of the faith we showed them.

I never thought I'd see the day when the Labour party valued the votes of Daily Mail readers above those of the working classes, shame on them.

Better to lose a job than cross a picket line.
