I think this is being offered as a possibility becasue RM think it's great that we do 1-2 days pw, their leaked plan show on Newsnight shows they don't care and will hold on as long as it goes like that.

That may work for RM during normal mail volumes, but surely if the current rolling tactics continue into the second half of November and into December then the usual huge volume increases will start to tell pretty quickly I would have thought.

So if RM win then your going to lose about 2 days pay a month from now until you retire !

Thats about £1200 per year ( BASED ON 3 ITEMS P/W - - WITHOUT THE UNION IT'LL BE MORE LIKE 8-10 ITEMS P/W )

Add on everything else they'd like to remove i.e.- NDA / Good Friday Pay / Driving allowance / early start allowance / Overtime ban

Add on the UNPAID overtime you would be EXPECTED to do , or face the sack for "not working hard enough"

Wake up some of you, long term they want to take loads £££££££££££££ off us!!

They say we are 25% overpaid (what do they know) all of this will recoup that 25% for them and more so the Greedy **rstards can have another big Bonus next year while we get "Reward Schemes" SOD em stay strong and plan for a long one this time.
I WILL NOT STOP untill we have reached a deal we can all stomach unless the Union screws it up which in light of the leaked Document is NOT an option this time.

A tricky one this, me personally would be in favour of it but our office is classed as a strong office by area, yet i hear a worrying percentage cribbing about they can't afford it.... At the end of the day we must keep them on side.... Carefully co-ordinated strike days can have a massive effect i.e for example distribution/ processing out fri, delivery out sat, distribution/processing out mon delivery out tues. NO overtime performed on any of these days and all employees only loosing one day per week. They wouldnt know what to do with the back log after that and next to nothing would have gone out over a five day period.... Just a thought

a all out strike would be a disaster, folk can't afford to go all out mortgages, credit cards etc, we have 25 posties in our office, i could guarantee by the end of the week their would be 5 or 6 going through the picket line and by the end of second week 10 - 15 would be back working, rolling strikes are the only way to go if you want to keep everyone onside IMHO

I wasn't promoting an all out strike IMO this would be the best way to solve the dispute..... BUT I DO understand the difficulties it would cause some members. However i do not accept that ALL members cannot afford to support the union in a series of one day strikes, my point is we need to look at ways to make them more effective to bring this dispute to an early conclusion for the sake of the customer, not just having RM laughing at us when we take double the load next day saving them more money to waste....... I also have a problem with the fact that some members don't realise that when you strike you have to make personal sacrifices for the greater good, they want the benifits of a strike but still want to go out on a sat nt etc!!!...... All i would say if RM have their way regards D2D previously mentioned, Pay cuts as we are currently overpaid acording to them etc etc you will loose hell of a lot more money EVERY week, and will probably be out delivering on a sat nt to enhance Mr Crozier and all his fat cats bonus payments!!!!

forget about all out strikes it not going to be path we choose for a number of reasons. The only chance of an all out strike would be if we went out unofficially.

I have been involved in a number of so called all out strikes and whilst it may apply pressure on the bussiness but believe me it applies lots on the union and the members each morning wondering if anymore was going into work or another office had drifted back. Plus the number of phone calls you get telling you that after the weekend if their was not a settlement they would be going in.

No the tatic we using is the right one hit them hard and hit them often.
