Sorry, this is just another case of the BNP trying to pose as a respectable political party on issues of the day.

Just like they tried jumping on the bandwagon at the time of the Lindsey Oil Refinery unofficial strikes early this year, because people were throwing Gordon Brown's words about "British jobs for British workers" back at him. The BNP tried to whip up racism about foriegn workers there, but were chased off the picket lines.

The Lindsey strikers weren't blaming the Italian workers for taking their jobs, but blaming the British bosses who were trying to undercut their wages by employing foreign workers on worse pay rates and terms and conditions. The answer was for all workers to be paid the same, and on the same contracts, wherever they come from, and for the employers to stick to national agreements covering the industry.

The threat to our jobs and the service we provide isn't from the Dutch or the Germans. It is from the very British politicians of the Labour Party (and the very British Tories if they get in) wanting to privatise Royal Mail. It is from the very British institution called Postcomm which has rigged the market to encourage British firms to shift to Downstream Access.

What we don't need is any help from closet Fascists to fight for our jobs and the postal service.

If they come anywhere near my picket line they be told to f#@k off before they get a kicking.
Well said Midge. These tossers will attach themselves to any cause that they think will get them a few more supporters :Applause

OPGPat said this-

It's then that we realise the real enemy ISN'T Fascism but actually free-market Capitalism. That's enslaved and killed more through trade-barrier induced famine, exploitation, war, the arms trade, and environmental pollution than the Nazis ever did.

So he wasn't talking genocide in general, he made a statement regarding capitalism, and that's what I answered. Nothing to do with monarchies or "American Democratic Republics"...

It was a direct reply to your Post not Ogpats. Anyway I always thought real debate branched out like a tree, and was not linear and confined to just one opinion guess I was wrong.

You are not wrong. The problem with Tman and people like him is their unwillingness to find out information on any topic they think they are discussing. The term 'autodidact' could be apllied to many on here including yourself, but not him.

Funny that, because I thought the point was made about which particular political philosophy had killed the most through genocidal acts, rather than genocide through the ages. I thought keeping to that particular thread was most interesting, rather than some history from the fifteenth century, but "guess I was wrong" too.

The term 'autodidact' could be apllied to many on here including yourself, but not him.
I think the expression, "I'm getting feckin' desperate now" could safely be applied to you, old :left: feller...

They both leave Hitler far behind. Now, what was it you said about "enslavement etc" Capitalism again...... :hmmmm
Hi guys! Nice to see we're all getting on so well here!
:left:

Mr T(man) Capitalism enslaves more than it sets free. You live in the prosperous West and clearly take it for granted. Go see the millions of children dieing each year from malnutrition and lack of basic medicine. Go see the child slaves making your shoes and T-shirts for 20p a week and having no education. You are free, (as good as, considering you need to work 40hrs a week to meet the bills) but your freedom directly causes the hardships of the 3rd world. Directly.

As for the genocide debate, there's more than one way to kill someone. Forgive me for quoting Wiki here but this sums it up nicely:

"In 2006, more than 36 millions died of hunger or diseases due to deficiencies in micronutrients"[27]. The World Health Organization estimates that one-third of the world is well-fed, one-third is under-fed and one-third is starving"

Your list of 20th C genociders is literally 'history' - starving children is happening NOW. Welcome to the Free-World.

No denying what you say is true; I was posting the list in the context of the Left vs Right genocide thread.
Sadly though, the political allegiances of many country's leaders are an irrelevance to the starving inhabitants, and as has been seen in too many Third World countries, there's always seems to be someone handing out the AKs to boys and young men.
Always those nasty horrible capitalist countries of the rich West who send aid, tractors, drugs, blankets and doctors though. :hmmmm

I wonder which those kids appreciate more, meals and medicines, or an AK and a red star badge? :hmmmm

That is a slightly simplistic version of the truth though. Yes America sends rice and blankets to Africa but enough? More than what they make in arms/oil deals with despots? Doubt it.

Africa has been steadily militarised for 100+ years by Capitalist democracy's 'Empire building' and Imperialism (mostly UK, Germany, France wasn't it?) and Capitalist countries trying to sell more arms before the USSR/China got there.

And there's more to it than that. Conflict has been encouraged by the CIA, Al Quieda was actually created by the CIA - you can check that out. The UK is still one of the worlds biggest arms exporters!!! If you look at the whole bloody mess from a distance I think you have to agree that more death has been dealt (and still is) throughout histroy by democratic states than autocratic tyrants.

It was the USA and Western democracies which handed out the Stinger missiles and
other arms to the Taliban/Mujahadeen (SAS trained them as well) to counter the USSR.
The USA annd the West also armed Iraq to fight Iran.
The arms industry will sell to whoever will pay.

Al Quieda means 'data base' or 'the base' and relates to the member-list or compound where the CIA trained mujahadeen fighters (including a certain Mr Bin Laden) in terrorist tactics to fight off Russian troops. Their religous fundamentalism was encouraged. Like they say you reap what you sow.
