Can't the union stop our payments to the labour party now after all this ?

you can stop your payment of the political levy by filling in a form. has been talked about on here before, see your union rep for a form.

wouldn't it be better if the Union stopped it altogether rather than a few individuals.

Re: Why are we funding Labour
Look I dont support the Labour party and have helped organise the London Ballot on the labour party. I also moved E6 which called for the members to be balloted on the labour party. I still want the members to be balloted on the labour party and will keep fighting for that.
However I totally disagree that members should withdraw wholesale from paying the politcal levy which is 10p. The reason for this is that only a small part of that is used to fund the labour party the rest is used to fight issues such as priviatisation , used to fight this dispute in parliment and at the labour party conference, is used to fight the BNP, to fight for better employment laws and a range of other things which benefit all postal workers.
So the answer is not to bin the political levy as we would be a busted flush unable to fight polictically on any issue. The answer is to end any of the politcal levy going to this corrupt Labour Government and to use all the levy to support those who support this union.

I agree with that dingo. But when are we going to get a vote?
It keeps getting blocked at Conference, by the Labour Party supporters.

Re: Why are we funding Labour
I opted out, but I would be happy to opt back in again if the CWU could give me an assurance that not one penny of mine goes to the Labour Party.
