he can't touch you and he knows it as well as we do . . . he's trying to frighten you into rushing around and breaking health and safety guidelines, we've been saying it for years now but, do your job properly, follow RM rules and health and safety guidelines and they will get more and more pissed off with you simply because they cannot touch you . . . . follow these simple rules and we all get the last laugh

Of course Hugh, but this is an individual case and not protected under union rules if he does a one man wildcat strike over this ;)Hugh_G_Rection wrote:Strike thats what you can do and dont do OT to clear the backlog. Spot on but I must emphasise you really do have to do the job 100% correctly, no slip ups. Once your a marked man (like me) f**k ups are not allowed. Cycle helmets safety issues for example have been used to sack staff.billypants wrote:he can't touch you and he knows it as well as we do . . . he's trying to frighten you into rushing around and breaking health and safety guidelines, we've been saying it for years now but, do your job properly, follow RM rules and health and safety guidelines and they will get more and more pissed off with you simply because they cannot touch you . . . . follow these simple rules and we all get the last laugh
Be warned and be on your guard at all times. Take an mp3 voice recorder to work with you and note EVERYTHING down in a diary.
Enjoy the ride, if thats the right word

Re: threatened with " go slow process" today by DOM
Can i offer a piece of advice, because this is the DOM that is playing the aint i hard bit send your B/H form to HR then it gets dealt with outside of your office,we have 30 B/H forms being dealt with by them, thats just 1 manager and the DOM that is up against it,they thought they could keep on pushing at staff, only now they are being pulled up themselves.
Something to be proud of Royal Mail Managers play the hard man,2 of our cases are going to an ET.

wanchope123 I'm going through the same sort of thing as you
Don't say you will do the job properly because the Dom has pissed you off as they try and say that is unofficial action.
What i said was in the current climate within RM i have no choice but to do the job properly ( mail in back, lock van every time i get out ect )
as RM were using any excuse they could find to sack people.I also said to my Dom that i was more than happy to carry mail in the front and jump out
leaving the van open to make things quicker, if he would write me a letter giving me permission to do so.Guess What he said no and when the Rep came down
as back up for me in our next meeting he told him he wanted me to work from the back and lock the van ect as it was RM policy, so now he leaves me alone
and i don't have time most days to complete my round let alone do lapsing.

Keep within the speed limits at all times.
Wear seatbelt every time I drive.
Always place PDA in glove compartment when I leave the vehicle if not required.
Always return the PDA back to its cradle when I return to the vehicle.
Always switch off the engine when I leave the vehicle.
Always remove the keys from the ignition when I leave the vehicle.
Always lock the vehicle when I leave the vehicle.
Hazard lights on when required.
Always work from the rear of the vehicle, (only have the one bundle of mail I’m working from in the front)
Always use paths, never cut across gardens.
Never step over small fences, hedges etc.
Never door step anything.
If on such items it suggests ‘if not in please leave with neighbour’, then I will try and do just that.
Never flick through my bundle of mail whist walking, I always do so at the door.
Don’t rush but maintain a good average speed through out.

First read this print it off and ask if he is doing weekly checks.....http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 36&t=18797" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Then don't ask him if you can do the job properly tell him you will be doing the job as its meant to be done as you are worried you may get sacked if caught with mail in the front ect.
Then tell him you are prepared to carry on as you used to if he will write you a letter and sign it with the union Rep there giving you permission and that he will take responsibility for it.
I can tell you now he won't as it will be his neck on the line if he does, and as he won't how can he object to you when you will have been seen to be more than reasonable in your approach to
your worries about mail security.
Good luck
