He doesn't KNOW, he just suspects collusion, as do I and doubtless many others on here.

Perhaps some in government have been inspired by the plot from 'The Hudsucker Proxy' http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0110074/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Plot: put somebody absolutely hopeless in charge, make the company almost bankrupt, then you and your mates buy up all the shares really cheap, and make a massive return when the company returns to business-as-usual.

Cast: 'Norville Barnes' ... :cfo
'Sidney J Mussburger' ... :mfo

'The profiteers / investors' ... TNT
I have been spouting this to anybody that has had the will to listen for the last 4 years, sadly most think I am a lunatic.

Got a message on my facebook
they have obtained a document showing Royal Mail and the Government have colluded against the CWU.
Should be interesting.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

It would have been except Sadam Crazier has taken out a re-direction for the BBC.

To add something to this thread ....

Just remembered the name of a former Secretary Of State for Trade and Industry, David Ivor Young (aka Baron Young of Graffham).

He oversaw the privatisation of BT in Thatcher's 1987 Government.

BT's sole competitor of any note at that time was Cable & Wireless, who profited handsomely from the opening up of BT's network to competition. C&W paid access charges to BT (this sounding familiar to anyone?) but didn't have to build or maintain a rival network so had none of the huge costs involved in running a true rival network.

Young retired from politics in 1989 'to return to private life', but then went back to business as a Director of Salomon Inc. and Executive Chairman of Cable and Wireless, staying at the latter for 6 years .....

Business boomed for C&W, spawning the One-2-One mobile phone business which became T-Mobile, soon to be part of a huge business, once the merger with Orange goes through.

A case of 'You scratch our backs, and we'll line your pockets' ??? Allegedly :Very Happy

:hmmmm

Tonight @10.30 BBC2 I think. Newsnight have obtained document showing Royal Mail and Government collusion against CWU.
Not the first time this or any other government has colluded with employers against a union. But in all honesty, would you trust Adam Crozier, Mandelson and the other corrupt tw@s. Please dont believe everything you read in your Sun etc. Rupert Murdoch bought a company a few years ago to break a newspaper strike. That company was TNT, now one of Royal Mails rivals. I'll leave you to figure out the rest [|)]

I read George Monbiot's 'Captive State' recently, on the recommendation of someone here(can't remember who I'm afraid) and this sounds like another example of the kind of back-scratching Mr Monbiot highlighted in that book.

In tonight's programme:

We have an exclusive story on the Royal Mail dispute - we hope. We're working hard on it as I write this. We hope to break the story at 10.30pm.
