Working at another office

I bet some people thought this would be about scabbing!!!

Its actually a question about overtime in general. I get x amount of overtime at the office i work at but there is a mail centre (DOs as well) close to where my fiance lives, i wondered if it was possible for people to do overtime at another place, ie deliveries. My mail centre has a few officers come in from DO so just wondered if it worked the other way around

I would advise against working o/t in another office as RM will take their usual liberties with your time and expect you to do o/t at the drop of a hat when it suits them! Volunteering your services to RM is akin to cutting your own throat in many instances.

in my office they bring lads off delivery on o/t on nights ips and collection work they have also asked processing staff to do deliveries so i cant see why not if your ok with it them why not......

At my MC we were only offered OT in delivery a couple of Sundays ago when management
cancelled our Sunday (OT) Duties and said people could do Deliveries in South London instead
to clear the IA backlog. The CWU Branch advised us not to, and I hear that ony one person did.

Can anyone confirm that as a result of EA RM now claim that they can transfer any employee to another office within a 60 mile radius on an as required basis?

I wouldn't put it past them. There's already an agreement to work in local offices. It's not a big leap, for them to decide that they can send us further.

I spend most of my time when not at work at my fiances but she lives no where near my mail centre is, the question was could i do overtime, not strike related, at the office that is near her.

voluteer me up for this, seriously. over 4 hours of travelling time less my m/r don't leave at lot of time to perform postal duties.

I don't think, at the moment anyway, that MC workers can work OT in DOs,
except perhaps where there is a DO attached to an MC.

In theory there is no reason why not. But as a CWU member I would approach the Rep for the office to see if he would be OK with it and if he was, (or not depends on your views I suppose) approach the DOM, most DOs would snap your fingers off if you said you were willing to do docket.
