While looking at the many posts on the forum some of which are very informative and others not so it is becoming more and more confusing to people who have been with RM just a short time
Not being exactly stupid, but with all this jargon is it no wonder any new boys tend to let the issues go over their head. It may help our case, if issues are clearly spelt out in plain English!

Summer Lapsing
Pegasus 1 (with loss of duties)
Pegasus 2 (with loss of duties)

We now have so many 25hr contracts in our office that if a full-timer is pulled out of IPS to prep their walk there is nobody left in IPS.So the 25hr contract people are paid overtime to come in and prep their own walk - about an hour and a half a day - putting them on about a 32hr week. So what savings?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

You should NOT of agreed to anything, this was the national stance, and many branches/offices have ignored it.

As for why strike, think of next year, the year after, the year after...........
i would like to know the same, we all want to work not strike, so what is the answer???

I hear that in Peterborough, two postmen have been taken off pay for NOT protracting, is this true, as we in Boston have been told we can not protract if we went on strike. I'm not bothered not doing overtime, but I would for customers sake. :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

Apologies.

It would appear i've been very, very badly informed (by a rep) just had conformation from their rep. They were threatened with possible dismisal, however they're back on pay now and have lost no money over it. :)

Feather in our Union cap it would seem.

Jimmy Carr`s laugh wrote:We lapse monday/tuesday with the promise of lapsing weekly with huge amounts due to losing 7 rounds , plus the same mon/tues lapse on top

Prep for around 1hr45 a day and then throw in part timers rounds

No overtime or leaving in, if you say your going over and dont want to they threaten you with prep tests and WILL follow you all the way round your duty waiting for a tiny mistake

No prep time allowed for d2d , got to be done in own time as its a seperate payment

Now have to weigh bags, do tick sheet, sign in , sign out, wear full uniform and nothing else ,even though when its freezing theres nothing to wear. If you wear your fleece youve nowt to put on when you go out.

8hr saturdays clearing everything out , mailsort, tnt, the works, as the manics once sang "everything must go"

some people made to take parcels out when theyve done their duty ,even though some who finished earlier are allowed to go home.

Have they actually followed anyone round yet Jimmy?

Theres only 1 now ,who used to be our old rep. They want him bad. He actually put a sexual harrasement complaint in againt our line manager coz he whispered in his ear or summat like that:Applause . He leaves in maybe once a week. They make him cycle back just to sign in ,and wait for him to get back. Never does anything wrong though, but he was the lad who got a 2yr serious a few weeks ago for getting a puncture.
Cheers for the answer. Reason i ask is coz they've threatened it to a few in our office but never actually done it. Maybe it's coming :cfo

Used to do it at my old office in Wigan 10 years ago , so its not something new :arrrghhh Remember if you ever leave mail in work until your time and just expect them to follow you coz if they catch you going home before your finish time its classed as wilful delay and your out the door
Been in the same office 24 years and never seen it happen yet. I expect it happening quite a bit in the near future. Mind you the only people in our office who wilfully delay mail is the managers, particularly packets
