If anyone can,can they post a link of some sort when they get it.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

jesus what a load of losser's. just stop using the car let them worry about getting the work out to you and cut off at the the end of your duty time. let the work build up in the office. once you get used to working to your time they can't touch you.

They all really need to grow a pair. As bad as RM management are, they can't and don't 'force' people to use their cars as claimed in this feature. Spineless the lot of them!!

Re: Posties forced to use own cars ITV ANGLIA NEWS
I am sorry but this strikes me as a Mr Higson and his department doing a Lord Nelson "I see no ships".
They implement 10% cut backs across the board and instruct local managers that no unit, no matter the reason will be immune.
The managers cough and bluster, but ultimately accept it - but when explaining it to the work force say they have no choice.
Duties are then cut both walking and driving and the remaining duties are extended to 100% capacity if there are no problems such as other traffic getting in the way, bags being prepped late.
The duty holder s then try their best to make the new system work but find they are waiting for bags, because of this they approach their managers and claim Over time or cut off.
The managers under tight budget constraints and without the back up of spare resources to cover cut offs put pressure on the posties to complete without claiming OT - we all know how they do it (prep testing, IWT tool etc)
Then they bring in lapsing which has to be done first (although there is no mention of this in the Pay and Mod just there should be sufficient capacity to do it) meaning the drivers have to take out the lapsing people to the round and then either back to the DO or out to their normal duties. This takes more time and with the drivers at 100% capacity before, bags are late, posties are late, posties get pressure etc.
The ultimate result is that because of Royal Mails Policy of implementing changes without any local conditions being taken into account, or asking the people who actually do the job how it could be made more efficient, they are in essence forcing all but the strongest (or most laid back) to use their own cars if they want to ensure that their customers get their post, but that they don't get grief and pressure from the management.
Mr Higson it is your fault, and yours alone, for not understanding that diktats from above do not work and will never engage the work force. Modernise your management style, engage the CWU and the non unionised members of the workforce, stop spinning like a pig carcass on a BBQ spit high on speed or in essence don't instruct your workers and management to do the impossible, ask them how the impossible can be done, we may surprise you.

Re: Posties forced to use own cars ITV ANGLIA NEWS
lol @ rm saying in the bulletin "we do not encourage workers to use their own cars".. then it went on to consider when appropriate.
at last some media coverage..
maybe it's a shame the reason why not to use a car is not mentioned
