I have ben wondering whether technically I need business insurance because I am working in another DO from my normal place of duty. I book on in my own office then travel to another DO, in my own car, which has a long term staffing problem. I am paid meleage for this travel at 40p per mile. I do NOT carry mail to the second DO but I am travelling in the firms time so do I need business insurance?

I would say yes but the best thing to do is contact your insurance provider and ask them.

Better still, check your Insurance Certificate. Some policies, only cover you to 1 place of work per day. Others (like mine), allow you to travel to more than one place of work, so long as you don't make any business calls en-route.

Afternoon everyone...
Strange how different offices work im from Dartford office and its a pure and simple sacking if you use your car no questions asked?....
Why should you use your car it should be left to Royal Mail drivers to drop pouches out, if they cant do it, cut off leave the ball in Royal Mails court.
Using your own car is making Managers life easier giving them less to deal with .... Tell me if im wrong

Come to think of it, if i leave a bundle or packet in the front of my van and get caught bye bye me... Got a 2 year serious for having a packet in the front while delivering to a firm, the van was fully locked and windows done up...
And yet they allow people to use there cars?
