YES VOTE / UPDATE LTB

Post by lovejoy »

Dear Colleague

NATIONAL INDUSTRIAL ACTION BALLOT – YES VOTE

With reference to LTB 884/09 we want to thank CWU Branches, representatives and members for returning an overwhelming Yes vote in the national industrial action ballot.

The Postal Executive will be meeting Monday 12th October to agree our next steps.

In the meantime, negotiations are continuing with Royal Mail and Branches will be given a full update next week.

Yours sincerely

In truth the CWU should tell RM that we are too busy organising strike action to be bothered with idle chit chat.

Well if you think RM are going to come to the table with a new outlook on employee relations then NO but if you think that RM are devoid of any honour, any idea how to run this business and to engage in meaningful discussion on the way forward - the answer is YES - so my advice would be pop 'em in the box this weekend as well as your xmas cards :Very Happy

You'll be against taking action then? The vote is in and its YES - Royal Mail has had ample opportunity to honour the agreements and to engage in meaningful negotiations, yet even today when there is an obvious anger in the way we are treated they insist we agreed to all these changes without negotiations - so when they are clambering over the mail to get to their office perhaps they might realise how serious the situation is.

The problem i have will the last agreement is everything should have be done with negotiations agreed in the 2007 pay and modernisation but RM have just went Executive action (spat the dummy) to impose the changes or bullied and harrassed to get what they want.
I think this is hardly negotiations. This is one of many reasons why i voted YES :Very Happy . CWU don't let your members down.
