When you say strike breakers can hope they are not treating you different on the same day cos that is discrimination and if I were you I would be kicking up a stink, even if I did not want to work over my time, dangerous ground to treat people differently.jim1911 wrote:The reason I cut off is because my manager tells me to. He will not pay overtime to finish a round if you went on strike. Scabbs can though. :cfo He cares less for customers waiting in vain for their mail, it sits in my frame till next day.

Re: What are the reasons for you cutting off,if you do?
we cut off because some days i go into work expecting our rounds thrown in and there not.
( van share )
being 5 hour a day its hard.
they say we cant come in early because they have enough full time staff to throw our rounds in but its just a lie
.
also the amount of mail involved and specials parcels we have to take its just impossible to complete in time.
i cant wait for xmas

Re: What are the reasons for you cutting off,if you do?
Our deliverys have always been 4.5 hrs there are a few that take longer, the managers always tell us were not walking fast enough, the delivery is just shy of 600 drops the biggest problem is that it gets alot of bulk as i have alot of firms to deliver to plus residential so it means i have to keep going to pick bags up,never mind i need to lose more weight

Re: What are the reasons for you cutting off,if you do?
work 4hr 30min a day after my break. walks are 4hrs [dim says they aren't but untill he comes and times me they are] very rare they are less.
deliver = 4hrs
bag walk and get to first delivery point=30 mins
throw miss-sorts off, sort parcels, collect specials, redirections, kill offs = 30mins
do 20% d2d in works time [up to three lots] not every week 15mins
lapsing, absorbing, flexing whatever you want to call it 20min to 25mins
total time even if there is only one lot of d2d 5hrs 20mins
50 mins over nearly every day if you want to take a bit of time off the baggging up, miss-sorts, parcels, redirections, kill offs, collecting specials etc. still over
but pressured every day. lost count of the number of times i've been invited into the office for a chat. thank god for the union. on 24hrs a week i think the walk should be bagged up for me, i'll give it a shot then. also there is no d1cking about i keep up a pace slightly above the royal mail requirement and still get grief. it gets to a point where you start thinking why do i bother.
the walks were extended without geo route or pegasus due to a fear of god propaganda chat "oh it will be a lot worse if we extend the walks with pegasus, lets work out how we can save money ourselves" and the scaredy cats voted for it. no timing of walks as far as i'm aware. the worst part is the dim now says "it's what you wanted" no it isn't we were conned. just like to say i voted against

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
