7 days but the pec are not meeting till monday so next week is out unless someone dramatic takes place at the talks which started today.

Bear in mind that if the CWU didn't allow RM at least a couple of days to let the result sink in - and come back with some realistic proposals to end the dispute - before giving 7 days notice of a national strike, it would give :cfo a chance to peddle the line to the media that 'you can see the CWU are not interested in resolving these issues, by the instant knee-jerk response of calling of a national strike the second the result is announced'

Plus, those offices that will have lost a day's pay (again) this week can at least have a week's respite before it goes national the week after

if the leadership don't call a national strike next week after the yes vote then london will not sit still, we'll be out again next wednesday at least we have got a backbone

thanks for that sareknees, i know you've had your problems up in scotland and without all 400+ officies who have taken action so far we all know we wouldn't be here today with a 75% yes vote after a national ballot for strike action, WE WILL WIN
