RE: Tariff Increase – Quadrant Catering – W/C 2nd November 2009
We have received correspondence from the Head of Corporate Responsibility and Engagement Services informing us of their intention to increase vended standard tea and coffee from 30p to 35p on w/c 2nd November 2009 (letter attached). They are holding all other prices including hot beverages in the canteen.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Tea up
That stuff is a rip off, I only buy it because I don't have a permanent frame to keep stuff like that in. Time to take in my own coffee. The other vending machines are full of crap and cost a fortune aswell.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

Re: Tea up
Its just a rip off. I take in a small cool bag with ice packs for cold juice in the summer and a flask for coffee in the winter. My partner works in a office which has a PROPER quailty branded vending machine and she gets FREE cups all day
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Re: Tea up
If the flask from Amazon is a bit pricey, and who of us has loads of spare cash now, get a starbucks one. I have had one for some months and it works great, preheat it with boiling water over night, then make your T in the morning. Dont milk in the flask, take it in a separate container, it will stay hotter longer.

Re: Tea up
The main reason for that particular one was it's (supposed) ruggedness and the fact that it was one of the first to come up in googlerichbriggs69 wrote:If the flask from Amazon is a bit pricey, and who of us has loads of spare cash now, get a starbucks one. Re: Tea up
I think the more people who do that the better plus you can always take it out on delivery with you, it'll save people a fortune and I can't see those vending machines staying with just managers using them.krussel wrote:Ive got a cheapy one from Asda just plain stainless steel £4.99. Re: Tea up
I've never understood why people use the drink vending machine in our office - the quality is awful and the price is way over the top, you don't even get the equivalent of a full cup of tea or coffee. And now that we HAVE to take our break (which I am delighted about) there is a queue with everyone hoping that the machine doesn't break down before they get their turn. We have a boiling water geyser permanently on, which will fill a cup or flask in seconds, so surely investing in a good quality box of teabags or coffee would save money and give a much more satisfying result
We wish to serve - but we will not be servile
