What problems arise,if any when you lapse/absorb?
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I haven't done lapsing in months so that annoys the others in my office

Re: What problems arise,if any when you lapse/absorb?
I have never lapsed
I just do the job properly and bring back what i haven't done by my time.
Now i get others making snide comments and moaning about me not lapsing to the dom, but all i say is if they did the job properly and just worked their hours they wouldn't have time to lapse either,
but then again they wouldn't get to go home 1 to 2 hours early if they did, funny that.

all of the above untill paid overtime walk unable to get covered , DOM invoked lapsing in addition to agreed lapsing . All got done but week after nobody lapsed because ...... no before time start, full break taken, strict pouch weighing, no door stepping, fully completed p739's etc. All i can say is regardless of good will given RM will take this as spare capacity , not hearsay not rumour just facts .

Less people on the sorting in the morning cos they are throwing off lapsed walks, can't go out on delivery until all lapsed walks are fully prepped (nightmare when a few are off sick) also anyone who cuts corners or whose walk is too small soon becomes apparent as they are lapsing the most.
