Don't call me a liar, I can take you over here and you can do the duty (and be like everyone else who does it and leave behind up to 2 hours work) and then you can judge me.bluebite79 wrote:don't believe any walk takes 5 or 6 hours. How many calls are on these walks ??

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
bullshit!! you can't tell me that you are leaving 2 hours of work behind and that is being put up with, wheres the benefit in that for royal mail or yourself. Wheres your union rep?? unless of course you deliver to farms which are miles apart and farmer jacks mrs is giving you a cup of tea and a bacon butty! The delivery span is 3.5 hours! why would you except 5 or 6 hours your union rep must be very weak, stand your ground! if it's taking you 6 hours to deliver it must be taking you at least 4 hours to prep not including iss time. 4+6+2+40minutes meal relief =12 hours 40mins!!!! Just seems a bit far from the truth! I'm reading post on this web page which seem very strange, either my office is very good and alot of office are run very poorly, not meaning to call you a liar but it just seems to bad to be true.

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
It is bad, originally (before Pegasus) the duty was 4 hours long but they decided that it could take a further 2 hours on delivery and a further 1 hour prep and 40 minutes IPS so because the mail has gone up it now takes that length of time. The official prep time (according to the ready reckoner on the frame) is 60 minutes - 1500 letters at 25 letters per minute for the entire prep but it usually takes me 2 hours plus.bluebite79 wrote:bullshit!! you can't tell me that you are leaving 2 hours of work behind and that is being put up with, wheres the benefit in that for royal mail or yourself. Oh BTW the other who do cover the duty, as well as leaving up to 2 hours work also come in up to 45 minutes early everyday just to try and cope.

Easy day for a Monday. We had our break early, 8am. Took 3.5hrs exactly. Very few packets. Warm and sunny still. Even threw off a third of my D2Ds for tomorrow.

Saw my Union Rep today and he put my mind at ease, offering me support and advice, easing my concerns.lazyjack wrote:robmacca wrote:Couldn't complete Saturday so I'm in the office on Monday as the DOM wants to go through the cutting off procedure with me. Trouble is they keep moving the goal posts so it's hard to tell what is the correct way.
Whole thing is making me stressed.
Thats the problem in so many offices concerning the goal posts, What was a stressful job is becoming even more so
Needless to say, no meeting and I'm ready if he wants to battle in the future

Hello RURALS - these have no upper limit on how long it takes, just that you should go to your duty time.bluebite79 wrote:don't believe any walk takes 5 or 6 hours. How many calls are on these walks ??

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Pegasus has created a walk in our office that is unachievable except on the lightest of Mondays.bluebite79 wrote:don't believe any walk takes 5 or 6 hours. How many calls are on these walks ??
somewhere between 4.5 and 5 hours walk we rarely get out the door before 10.00
Overtime now being claimed daily!
dim wont have it... trying different people on walk
How many different postman claiming O.T will it take to convince him?
Bare in mind that the dim will accuse every one of them of not trying and will eventually alienate half the office!
I'm a postman-and i know where you live.....
