Sleep long and hard on it mate
Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

Re: thought long and hard about this
I assume youre a FT opg who has worked at RM for quite a few years? Don't do it! It's exactly what theywant, to get rid of all the loyal staff to be replaced by underpaid and overworked part timers. It might not be as good as the old days but the job is still a lot better than some of the crap jobs out there. There is not a stronger union anywhere in the country either, If you really have had enough then make sure you find another job first and good luck!

There are times when I considered taking VR, but there is little in the way of Jobs out there, the only thing you can do is try to knuckle down and wait for a upturn to come and then consider your option.

I think we all know how you feel everyone at my office is sick of it all. However at the moment i think we all just have to hang on in there and hope things improve
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Sadly mog we are all in the same boat mate just ride out the storm with the rest of us. Management will crack before us stay strong and dont do it.

Re: thought long and hard about this
I'm full time in a small office that is now 50 50 ft/pt, mates are leaving and if I don't leave then I will be sacked sooner or later. I do the job properly but that is making me stand out as a 'trouble maker'. You try and be strong but it's affecting my health, I don't how much fight is left in me. We're spiralling downwards and my reward for 20yrs service will be dismissal on some petty technicality. Sorry to be so pessimistic but its sunday night and I know I'm in for row in the morning.
Just had enough

DON'T DO IT,NONE OF YOU!!
My place have been through some very bad times,in 07 we done the job properly and we had all kind of threats, the threat of suspension, threats when we cut off,the threat of loss of pay,we had a DSM stationed at our place to bollock us daily, but we got through it.
Yes at times it was hard,i had to put my arm around a few people to comfort them, and give them the,we will get through this talk, but we got through it and we are stronger for it.
Now we are ready to go through it again, with exec action taking away our 4 day week,we are on another ride.
I know it's easy to say,but get your office together, you are all in this together, you have to stick together.
I'm a grown man but it breaks my heart to read some of the stuff on here, especially lately, but after the heartbreak comes anger, but rest assured it will all come out, your voices will be heard,it wont stop everything, but it will be interesting and it will embarrass the f**k out of Royal Mail.
Be strong.
And to the managers watching in,especially those who practices are mentioned on here........well i'll hold back for the time being.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Fed up of doing more work for less pay ?
Fed up of the bullying tactics of managers ?
Fed up of being treated like a pack mule ?
Fed up of being threatened constantly ?
Fed up of going to work and seeeing poeple with years in leaving ?
Fed up with the same old crap about striking will cost more jobs ?
Fed up of seeing less of us and the same number of managers or more ?
Yes to any of the above and you really would be stupid to vote NO :cfo
This is the only chance we are going to get and with the Tories looking like taking over next year we need to get an agreement in place. Sure many of us will leave the industry perhaps upto a third, I do not expect to be here next year at this time, the time for me to go is near.
I am willing to fight for those who will be left behind, but if you want to be here a year from now you need to fight AS WELL.
YOU WILL NOT GET ANOTHER CHANCE

Re: thought long and hard about this
On the plus side, we will get the yes and having been marched to the top of the hill, it will be harder to march us all back down again than it was the last time round.
