Re: Starting 25 hour contract and part time job Monday
I'm on a 25 hr contract and do everything except IPS. A couple of the walks have some prep done for them, but no door to doors. Duty holder does all door to doors, prepping and delivering.

Re: Starting 25 hour contract and part time job Monday
In our office there are part time staff that are doing the same amount of work as your 25hr contract but are only on a 22.5hr contract. They don't know that there entilted to a break. They are not meant to bundle up there walks and put them into bags, that is the full-time staff that are meant to be doing that, but its never been done. Thanks postman for posting the breaks table, i'll be telling my dom and others that they are entilted to a break

If the D2D's are meant to be thrown off for you, what would happen if you just didn't do them. Who would get the blame.

Re: Starting 25 hour contract and part time job Monday
Also, I asked about the situation on a Saturday and was told that Tuesday you were meant to do 4 hours, because it is light, and Saturday you do 6 hours so prep your own walk. While on a 35 hour contract I did no IPS and just prepped my own frame. parcels, redirects etc. How can they expect you to do what easily took me 7 hours in 6 hours? 1 hour to throw off.

I was wondering if anyone who has a 25 hour contract can say if it contains any wording specific to D"D's or if it refers to any part of the 25 hour duty.

Re: Starting 25 hour contract and part time job Monday
Just thought I'd update. 3 days in and my walk is thrown off, along with parcels AND D2D's
Not sure where I stand Saturday as it will be a completely different kettle of fish. I feel for the full timers, having to throw walks off, IPS and their own walks as well as absorption, getting worse by the day as more and more people go part time and less and less for IPS, absorption, etc, etc. Lets hope there is an end to this madness soon.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Starting 25 hour contract and part time job Monday
i think this all goes to show that this is really a full time job, the managers havent gotta clue what to do with the part timers they now have, no one knows what they are supposed to do, ie throwing walks of, d2d's, breaks.
I do feel for them cos they are walking into a new job and not one of the dims know what to do, and cos all the fulltimers dont agree with part timers
they dont wanna have much to do with them

If FTers are prepping PTers d2d's then they should get half the payment for doing half the job for them.
