Date: 2 October 2009
TO: ALL BRANCHES
Dear Colleagues,
Hardship Fund - Royal Mail Dispute
Branches will be aware of the continuing difficulties our members face in Royal Mail. CWU Headquarters is mindful of the severe problems our members face in respect to their own finances and in this regard the Union has established a National Hardship Fund to deal with members who are experiencing extreme difficulties. It will be understood that the governance of the Fund and the criteria established will need to be agreed.
However this LTB is to advise Branches of where they can send donations to the National Hardship Fund:
c/o Tony Kearns,
Senior Deputy General Secretary,
CWU,
150 The Broadway,
Wimbledon SW19 1RX
or by cheque to the above and made payable to 'Postal Workers Support Fund'.
or by transfer to Unity Trust Bank - account no: 20194129 - sort code: 08 60 01
The Union will also be contacting supporters of the CWU to ask them to make donations to this Fund.
Any enquiries regarding this Letter to Branches should be addressed to the Senior Deputy General Secretary's Department, for the attention of Peter Metcalfe.
Yours sincerely,
Tony Kearns
Senior Deputy General Secretary
