Hi,
I suffered more Victimisation, then Harasment, then finally out and out Abuse today.
I won't go into details, as I'm putting in a second harrasment claim against him (and I've not even had the first one dealt with) but if I was ranted and raved at in the street, a pub or the middle of your local Tesco in the same way as I was in the DOM's office (alone, sadly), I would consier it a matter for the police.
The big question is, as it happened on Royal Mail property, can I take it further and make it a legal matter, or do I have to deal only with Royal Mail's harrasment and bullying procedure (appeals and all)?

if you think your the victim of a crime you are perfectly entiteld to contact the police, your work place is not your bosses own private fyfedom. Sounds like you have no witnesses though, so it wont go anywhere.

An mp3 voice recorder is your friend. So is a paper diary.
Run, rabbit run. Dig that hole, forget the sun.
And when at last the work is done. Don't sit down, it's time to dig another one

Good for you. Too often managers think they have a license to YELL AND SHOUT whenever they feel like it.

Just put in a grievance and see your union rep to make sure the right procedures are followed, make sure you use RM's grievance form when putting in a complaint.

To, IPS: I thought of the MP3 thing too, but also thought that you had to have the person being recorded's permission?
( I think that this applies to electronic recordings, ie, on the phone to someone. That's why all these stoooopid companies tell you "Calls are recorded for training purposes." Bollocks,it's because they are required to by Law... But I'm not sure about "live" recordings though.
In theory/hypothetically, if someones giving you crap, I feel that you SHOULD be allowed to have evidence to defend yourself.
Does anyone else have any additional info, as I may need to go down this route? Ta...

thats not true.
if you have a complaint and complain to the old bill sometimes they will tell you to get evidence otherwise it will be too hard to prove

Naw, mate. I take it things are just as pish there, as they are in my own neck-of-the-woods?fatherchristmas wrote:you dont work in sw london do you?
Personally, I just wish more posties would stand up against the kind of management Royal Mail has to offer. Even just diarying a complaint with a Union rep would showcase a pattern with any given DOM, then the posites could go in "mob-handed", knowing they weren't just a lone voice.
Anyway, better go, I've got another H1 form to fill in. (Fecking RSI with all this writing!)
