7 am til 3pm?

Post by shimmyrule »

Is this delivery work pattern going to come in for sure?
If so, how soon.
This could be the last straw for me if it does, its completely ruining my lifetime hobby which i have spent thousands on over the years.
Like many of you, i joined this business donkeys years ago because it afforded me the time in the afternoons to carry out my hobby, its now at the stage where i fear im going to have to give it up,lock stock and bareel and its making me sick, physically and mentally. It would also break my heart to pass on my hunting partners whom ive raised since young.
Any ideas for ill health retirement folks, im serious.

This has been a strong rumor in our office all year. I believe the later start is to help when the walk sequencing machines become active. However they keep putting off the time when these are supposed to come on-line so its anyone's guess. But yes looking ahead it looks as if we are heading to 7am starts.

Ps. raising hunting partners :hmmmm eh :Very Happy
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Our start times changed last october/ november 6:15am on a monday but 6:45am every other day including sat. They never told us the mail just turned up late every morning then after 2 weeks of it the driver who drops our mail off in the morning said "dont you know your start time has changed". It took a month before a manager told us officially. Now were lucky if the mail arrives at our office before 7:00am every day. They say they cant get it to us any earlier except for Monday when it arrived at 4:50am????? Whats that all about?????? :hmmmm Now were finishing at 4pm-5pm everyday. Its definatly not the same job I applied for all them years ago!!!

Plenty people don't have a job at the moment with many more to follow. I'd rather have a job than get too upset about changed hours - there not unsocial anyway. Even the CWU recognise that change is coming - better like it or lump it.
Or get another job. :whistle
