Delivering missorts

Post by memo232 »

Hello

If while out on delivery, when at a particular address i find a letter in the bundle which is addressed to a house that i have already called at today, what is the correct procedure to deal with it? I know if the address is nearby then it you should walk back and deliver it, but what about addresses that are much further away? I have asked one or two people in the office, but have had different responses.

Deliver it, ain't worth losing your job for 1 letter, if you don't it is classed as willfull delay.

just drop it in your bag and then put it back in your frame in the morning ( most do at our do), or pop it back in a mail box and let it go back through the system.. ( if you have got loads of snitches at your do ) i,ve got a couple i could not find in mine right now :Boo hoo! but im sure the royal mail jobsworths will be along to slag me off.......blah blah blah :speak to the hand

Put m/s (missort) and the date on the top of the letter and pop it back in the box.

Therefore anyone could have done it.

It happens often with a letter stuck behind another letter that isnt even for the same delivery, same rules apply.

Pouch it off and make sure you endorse it, then it's ok.

Thats ok saying take it in next morning but occassionaly managers check your bags when going in in the morning. Iv'e had both my bags and pouch off bag checked before and you have to sign that you have been checked.

Just take it home, put it in your loft and forget about it. Several years later, when there is pattern starting to form about missing mail and the time and dates etc where you have been working, expect a visit from the IB who will spend several days removing undelivered mail from your property. You will then be charged with something or the other and appear in front of a judge. You can then deny all charges against you on the grounds of diminished responsibility due to the years of bullying and stress that you were subjected to whilst being a postman, at the hands of RM management. Hope this helps.

I've had a few missorts lately, mainly DSA, the stuff thats wrapped in plastic, gets stuck to the back of another.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

If you have 'delivery time' left to do it, then deliver it. If you do not then return it to the DO endorsed as M/S with the time and date. Nothing they can do about that whatsoever.

Do this only if you want to loose your job at some point.

Godo idea but endorse it to cover your back

Lets hope the Managers have not sussed who you are, if your telling the truth, and don't do a bag check tomorrow

We was briefed on this subject last year by a dim dom and he stated if you prep the walk you must deliver it but if it was prepped by some one else bring it back for the next day. Muppet

I do lots of flats with security locks and more than a few times i'll come across a letter or two like an hour after doin the flat its addressed for. I wrote Missort on a few and pouched em off - got a telling off because they were still for my walk, now usually when it happens I cant get into the flats cos its later in the door and so write No Access on em

Meant to add I dont sort my own walk.

Another anomaly that since the demise of the second delivery when missorted letters would have that second chance to get to there destination
when royal fail was proud of it's service ......the days before chumps like lateone , crazier , and 'bob' got there mits on the tiller
