I've always banked hours on a weekly basis since I started i book all pressure OT on a weekly basis (see how it balances over the week) on the rare occasion I have it and if they ask me to come in prep for instance I will book that separate regardless of hours.
Its always interesting to see the frustration in doms face if I am under first couple of days then have kids to pick up for the next couple as they can't do nothing when I refuse to work over. However when it comes to sat if I am still under I tend to come in early prep my duty and get out early therefore using up some hours. Its not my fault that on quiet days sometimes RM don't provide me enough work to fill my time.

Try doing a walk, you may find enlightenmentOnAFlyer wrote:If you can do your delivery in 3.5hrs most days, how do you make it last 3.5hrs on the lightest days if you're not going slower than normal?pickaname wrote:i dont believe that 'go slows' exist.
I always work to my time, even on the lightest days. I make sure I divide my walk up so i finish bang on - unless its really heavy, then i cut off or claim. i wouldnt say i was deliberately going slow as im allowed 3.5hrs to complete.
Tuesday at 1pm i was stopped by a line manager on patrol looking for people who were finishing early as it was light. Had I finished? Nope.
This thread highlights the need for all of us to work the 3.5hr delivery span every day no matter what. You are given 3.5 hrs so use it. All of it, or expect to have more work dumped on you.
Bye

Re: banking hours
Because of the terrain of my walk a quiet day is usually only 10 minutes shorter than a busy day - in fact the shortest time I ever did it in was 3 hrs and that was last year between the Christmas and New Year Bank Holidays when its really dead.BELIAL wrote:Try doing a walk, you may find enlightenmentOnAFlyer wrote:If you can do your delivery in 3.5hrs most days, how do you make it last 3.5hrs on the lightest days if you're not going slower than normal?pickaname wrote:i dont believe that 'go slows' exist.

Why don't you answer the question instead of posting supposedly clever comments that actually make no sense at all?BELIAL wrote:Try doing a walk, you may find enlightenment

Every postie on this forum knows that on the vast majority of walks there is a significant difference in delivery span between a very light day and a heavy day.

Yes, the Reps from Earlies and Nights signed it off, when the Late Shift Rep was off. Aparently, someone was supposed to invite the Lates Sub Rep to the meeting, but the message never got through (to be fair, it is possible that it was a genuine mistake). Although, it wouldn't have made a difference anyway, as he would have been outvoted 2-1 anyway.woofwoof wrote:how can it be in someone must of signed this offandy2007 wrote:I hate to admit it. Im given 3.5 hrs to do the delivery everyday...by using all of the allocated time i dont see how i am going slow.OnAFlyer wrote:If you can do your delivery in 3.5hrs most days, how do you make it last 3.5hrs on the lightest days if you're not going slower than normal?pickaname wrote:i dont believe that 'go slows' exist.

A metaphor:
A football match is 90 mins long...you dont see players leaving the field ten mins early just cause theyre 4-0 up.

No you don't see them leaving early, but they could have as the game is already won - what happens is they tend to slow down and play out the match.pickaname wrote:A metaphor:

Sort of similar to going on a go-slow
