I know Postman, I honestly think his days are numbered, but I don't see anyone willing to step into the breach (sp?), for all the hassle it's worth.

Anyway, the fact remains that we've got to be prepared to lose an awful lot more before this fight is over.

So the question we should be asking is 'Should we do individual days or just go out for a week or two?'

One other thing to remember is that for every £1 that a postman loses through industrial action, this Liebour goverment will stand to lose the tax and national insurance contributions :left: not bad Mr Mandelson eh?

i'm on a 'gross' basic of £85.43 a day (£427.16 per week) 'nett' is about £63.00/day not inc. any D2D payments or any OT. This is for Outer London. As yet not on strike, unlike most of inner london.

so 12 days 'out' would amount to £1025 for me. I believe London are now on their 14th day of strikes? = £1200 plus, as they get a higher London Weighting Allowance.

personally i think we would of be better off if we had of just stayed out for 3 week's. i'm sure it would of forced their hand by now. as it stand's right now it's a total mess. EA is still being brought in across the SE area and their's some in my office that are now really finding it hard to make end's meet. lossing 20% of our wages every week for almost 3 months and not a word of any real help from the union.

Moriarty wrote:So it looks like the figure RM has posted could well have been 'massaged' a little!! Not everyone would have lost that amount, as there are different shifts to take into account. Some posties would lose out alot more than others, and yes I am confident that they have thrown in the inner London weighting.

I'm just tired of listening to them now. My union rep believes all this shite too, and unfortunately so do many others.
It's all bollox, and so is your rep and the others as well by the sounds of it.
well said brother postman :Applause The amount you lose is abated on hours, so if you work long or short days the loss varies. weekdays cost me about 8 1/2 hours, saturdays 6 1/2 hours. whatever the cost i think it is money well spent. I have no wish to work with the sort bullying and intimidation RM wish to impose on the workforce. VOTE YES ! ! !
