Strike action has disrupted mail services at 16 postal delivery offices across central Scotland.
Parts of Glasgow and Edinburgh were affected - as well as other locations including Stirling, Bathgate, Cumbernauld and Dunfermline.
Royal Mail said managers would handle special delivery and tracked items, but ordinary mail faced disruption.
The company said it had been notified a strike planned for Glasgow Mail Centre on Tuesday had been called off.
The strike is part of a UK-wide action by the Communication Workers Union (CWU) against "modernisation" plans.
The areas affected were Alloa, Anstruther, Bathgate, Bo'ness, Cowdenbeath, Cumbernauld, Dalkeith, Dunfermline, Grangemouth, Lochgelly, Rutherlglen, Stirling, Glasgow postcodes G33-34 and Edinburgh postcodes EH4, EH10 and EH8.
A spokeswoman for Royal Mail said 95% of staff in Scotland were working normally.
