This letter, to my mind, paints a Target on people such as myself, along with others who for no fault of their own, "may" be in the same boat.

There appears to be a hidden agenda, maybe not so hidden! Cutting staff, less wages, converging rounds, "less mail"...Where do I stop?

So...I hope that the union will support "dissenting/non-signers" as it seems that there will be some heavy pressure from RM Managers for us to sign
protecting their "important" roles/authority/pensions/future unemployment.


its not so hidden,in our delivery office we have someone in the same boat as you have described.perhaps you should chase your dom to see if he has done a business referral,he may after all not been in contact with them.they have actually told him that there is no indoor work in our d.o.and will not support a rehab programmebecause of walk sequencing.i recently have beem ill heath retired and will not be accomadated,even though their decision was based on me not recovering from my operation in time! and am appealing but if my colleague is struggling to get back (even in a rehab programme )know there are problems ahead.they are targetting the sick,rehab programmes and if peole are illhealth retired it is a cheap form of redundancy payout ,i recieved just over 15,000 for 11 yrs service.you cant tell me that royal mail can sniff savings around this criteria.

Quite simply RM cannot be trusted ...

Thus far, I have managed to prevent the DOM issuing anything that requires a signature beyond the attendance sheet for a WTLL and the daily signing-in sheet, lol.

Their action leads me to believe that they are just trying these things on to see how we react. The majority of what is contained on these separate sheets are governed by what you sign when first joining RM. It might be just the odd new sentence or re-wording that is set to catch you out.

Geezer not doubting the veracity of your posting, but don't you think an important issue such as this, and in view of Legal guidance from CWU HQ has confirmed that if signed these letters would change the contract of employment of our membership.

Where is the urgency in the CWU HQ Comms Dept in notifying Branches via the CWU website of this urgent matter via LTB's.

This was a CWU communication, im just a member not a REP or anything i just pass on things i get that i haven't seen on the site.Also i'm not from London.

The writing at the top is just what was written to me in the EMail i received, not my own comments.

Signing a letter only acknowledges that you have received it NOT that you accept what it states, so why is this so important for management ?

If you have read the letter then you should know why.

I had read it, but signing indicates RECEIPT of the letter, also a REMINDER and UNDERSTANDING of procedures, the point I was making being that it did not appear to CHANGE terms and conditions of employment, but perhaps I didn't read it carefully enough.

i have noticed on wtll that they want signitures before hand .they can add anything on what they briefed.
