Yeah right. We can all be put in one of their six little boxes and dismissed
if we don't blindly accept the RM line.

Re: What does RM really think of you
Is this a management guide or a last desperate cry for help from someone undergoing a mental breakdown?

Re: What does RM really think of you
I think that is extreamly sad that R/M have sunk that low to putting staff in little boxes, everybody that works for RM is an individual in thier own right, just because someone stands up against a manager, voices an opinon or sees a weekness in the way a manager is trying to impose an unrealistic work practice does not make them sly,as for taking the crys at a drop of a hat hand a tissue over and carry on what a low and callaus way to take on someone who could be easlie upset by being placed in a situation that has said your not any good at your job, improve or we get rid of you(which is how we had it put to us yesterday),to take a situation such as somone who may or may not suffer with depression and turn it into a fasical the world on its shoulders just shows how little understanding they have as a bussiness that someone can have what can be a debilitating illness and turn it into a joke i just find the whole thing offensive, sorry

We should have some categories for managers too!
The Fish Out of Water By some miracle the fish out of water has become a line manager. This is despite having no obvious ability to do the job. Fishes were usually terrible posties, yet they will firmly believe that they were the best and someone for whatever reason saw fit to promote them. They are prone to mental breakdown due to being severely out of their depth and will disappear for hours on end whenever problems arise. However, fishes are usually related to someone higher up in Royal Mail, this being the reason for their promotion.
The Willing Executioner Will act in the most appalling manner to posties but only on the grounds that they are 'following orders' from above (an excuse used by many Nazi's at the end of the Second World War). The Executioner is capable of almost anything and should never be trusted. They will hide behind their 'orders' in order to distance themselves from their behaviour and make themselves believe it's perfectly normal.
The Best Mate A line manager who talks and jokes around with posties as if he were their best friend. Usually a former postie who didn't really want to become a manager and misses the day to day banter. However, whilst talking and joking the best mate is actually covertly gathering information and will quite happily use it against his 'mates'.
That's enough for now!

I've got one of them, also the Clueless: who is made a Lino, doesn't know how to do the Job, doesn't know the correct procedure and makes one up on the spot, avoid difficult questions, has no confidence, does a hash job of anything he does.
