Continued from when? The Union did a great job at the forefront of The Way Forward and P&M 2007 didn't they, I definitely hope it continues to improve like it has done since then. (have you read this forum lately )

You lost me on the last bit.
we need managers with the balls to speak up, if they haven't got any, then they need get out of management.Being a good manager isn't about bullying the work force,it's about
managing your whole office in a fair and lawful way.If unrealistic targets are set, then as a manager you need to speak up and say so.
As for whistle blowing, a manager telling his superior in the same organization would not be unlawful, or am i missing something.

ok i wont talk to much about the way forward agreement as i voted against it,but pay and mod 2007 is an agreement i did vote yes to and still believe it was right to do so and heres why.
We got a pay increase of 6.9% over 2 years plus lump sums linked to local change and also the 50-50 productivity scheme,remember before we went on strike there was a pay freeze with us also being told we were overpaid and under worked.
All change to be negotiated with the union,management wanted and still do to wipe out the CWU from within the workplace,we are still here.
Early shift allowances in delivery retained,management wanted to remove this allowance.
£400 colleagueshare dividend paidin April 2008,also £200 for local targets and £200 for group profits,all which were paid to us on the back of the company having no money.
Management wanted up to 2 hours flex,this was agreed at 30 minutes.
innovative duty structures were introduced which included 9 day fortnights and 4 day weeks,giving people more time away from the workplace or better earnings.
A cap on d2d to 3 a week,management wanted up to 10 contracts,not that they would have got them imho.
Monthly pay not agreed but subject to further discussion.
MTSF retained.

There are a few other points both good and bad but ive listed enough to i believe point out that things would have been much much worse if we had not taken strike action when we did.So when you think about it Pay and Mod was not really that bad to the 23 strings management wanted from the start was it.Believe me without the CWU who are not perfect but have our interests at heart, people need to accept that change is always going to happen,sometimes it wont all ways be for the best and not everyone will be happy about it,but its what you get from it what counts theres going to be good bits and bad bits its all about making sure you gain more then give up.

To be treated like the 44yr old man that i am,rather than a 4 yr old child whose manager thinks that everyone in the D.O has the brain the size of a peanut & must be told what to do in the same slow,condesending manner every effing day
Not to be blatently set on when voicing a legitimate concern ( a colleague recently rang the bully/harrassment line,impartial?yeah,the next day he got the old S.D in his post,constructive dismissal)

guaranteed future bonuses & employment in line with business growth

If i was boss i would punt those who want to strike. Royal mail need to modernise and compete with the competition. If not, give it a couple of years there will be no jobs to come back too. There are plenty off people out there who want to work.
If you tally your hours up at the end of the week most will be lucky to come near to the hours they get paid for. Mondays and Tuesdays being quite most weeks.

If I tally up my hours every week it usually comes to 46/47 hours (which is about 5 more than the managers do) so if you really want to modernise, get rid of those non-productive who only seem to fill in paperwork and drink coffee

They can sack us when we do strike if they want but they have to follow the rules just as strikers do. But they cannot sack you for wanting to strike that would be illegal and immoral and against Human rights as well I think.

The union are all for modernising but is that what YOU call what is happening? Walks were tested fairly then someone sitting on their backside all day thought 'hey look what time some of them are getting back lets work out a test to those standards then we can get them to do bigger walks, oh and (as they get another cup of coffee) they think, but if we also made them take out part of another walk it wld only take a few minutes more..........and we can call it MODERNISATION yay brilliant! Now that deserves something stronger than coffee!!!!!!!

What modernisation is that then?
I've seen no evidence of successfully implemented new machinery. Just cutbacks, later deliveries, and charging Businesses for morning deliveries. Which is something they used to get for free.

If you do know of any real modernisation in RM, then please enlighten us.
