FYI my employment history Military....HGV.....and Sales.................nervous breakdown............sales..........depression...........RM
You don't act like a man who has served. But if you say you have then I have to accept that you are being truthful.
I was going to write a big speech for you but I'm too pissed off to show you any kind of respect, even though you were a serving man..........
You sir need to stand up for what is right. Have you looked at a stamp lately....... the last time I looked it still had the face of our Commander In Chief on it.
It's a sad day when a Royal Navy man can't be bothered to fight for rights of his fellow man.
So as you are obviously not a military man you have questioned my loyalty to my fellow men without logic and reasoning, a sailors first loyalty is to his Ship, and if it came to it, you would scarifice your mate for the sake of the ship.
FYI I voted YES, but that shouldn't stop me wanting to debate and learn more to find out exactly what all the issues are, because more seem to appear every day !!
So lets debate and not get personal[/i]
As you have said above..."a sailors first loyalty is to his Ship".
As far as myself and the Military, you would never have the balls to walk in the boots that were worn by me and my mates.
You sir are a make believe plastic soldier.
ps. you could prove me wrong but I doubt it.
Seaman is a trade in the Royal Navy, in the merchant it is a general term for a person who works on deck.
In the RN you are always referred to Sailors as a general term.
I was a Marine Engineering Mechanic and qualified for CMEM
I served onboard HMS ARK ROYAL AIR CRAFT CARRIER 1975-1977
Embarked HMS INTREPID MARINE ASSAULT SHIP 1977-1979
Emabrked HMS DOLPHIN for Submarine training March 1979
1979 served onboard HMS SOVEREIGN*, WARSPITE, SWIFTSURE
Left RN on Completion of service Feb 1985 Rank POMEM
Official No D149---s (Thats still covered by the Official Secrets Act due to my submarine service)
* Earned Dolphins** with highest mark ever achieved on that particular boat***
** Submariners equivalent of "Wings"
*** Submariners always refer to submarines as "Boats" this stems from the German Unterseeboat (Undersea boat)
Whilst on HMS ARK Royal in 1976 we were filmed for the acclaimed BBC fly on the wall documentary "SAILOR"
FYI ON Ark Royal I was part of the fire control, on 5th Feb 1976 whilst sailing out of Plymouth, A fire developed in A boiler room, I was designated as first man in, wearing just a compressed wool suit, and breathing apparatus, my job was to find the seat of the fire and put it out, which I did, i also found a fellow stoker, sat under a fire hydrant poached to death, you want me to describe what it's like to spew up in a BA. and nearly choke on your own vomit, you want me to tell you what it's like to try and lift a human body thats been poached.
Need anymore evidence ?
