I didn't agree and would have walked in support of the Edinburgh Mail centre but i'd been the only one and probably sacked, our office made a collective decision to send a non-union member, who doesn't believe in striking. End off..

I'd also like to say i think Edinburgh mail centre have a cheek about scabbing when everynight they have people sorting Glasgow scab mail.

would like to add Steven you lot took easy way out by sending up the polish non member and put him in the firing line & this is the same office that asked for a local ballot & returned a no vote so the management could continue to hose all over you. and the others couldn't vote cause they are non members :mfo

Can I just say its pointless listing what Units handled scab mail as I am sure a lot have. However, its not the individual MCs or DOs as a group that we should be concerned about as I am sure people within those Units have refused to handle scab mail, and tarring them with the same brush as those willing to do it is unfair and unjust.

Condemn the person if you want but not the Unit he belongs. Please don't go round saying so and so unit is scabbing and they are all strike breakers as you are actively helping RM management spread their "Divide and Conquer" campaign. :hmmmm

fair point true blue & you are 100% correct we should all be sticking together, just for our delivery colleagues i am informed that royal mail intends to divert mail to numerous offices tomorrow to be sorted by staff as part of their duty as there will be little or no mail to deliver, another effort to piss everybody off i presume

are you talking about afternoon collection drivers crossing the picket line? cos this morning i know for a fact that our DOM didn't even bother sending a driver up on the missort run cos he knew no-one would go and he's too lazy to do it himself. :left:

dudleyicious as you should know royal mail now ask staff at the start of the shift if they will cross a picket line & if they say no they are removed from pay immediately and sent home, several d`o`s are on strike on sat so night shift apc drivers will be asked if they gonna cross picket line. they are all gonna say no which means they will be sent home & could mean a walk out by rest of mail centre which has been brewing for ages. the final mails for your office are done by a contract on a Saturday morning & he has scabbed before so he will more than likely do it again.

The Livingston Missort driver wouldnt go in yesterday morning. The manager had a meeting in front of us saying the drivers money was getting stopped because he refused to do his job. We asked why the managers couldnt go in and they said it wasnt part of thier job even if the driver went into Edinburgh and got one of the Managers at the other side to cross the line they would still get thier pay held, They knew we would walk out as we did it a month ago for the other driver. :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

Edinburgh mail centre drivers & edinburgh airport walked out tonight due to drivers being taken off pay because they refused to cross picket line of offices that were taking official industrial action. :silenced
