Plymouth MDEC - Late Shift, mostly students who couldn't care less and a few union members but I can't go there as one of these will only print this off and put it on my desk at work.
But on the up side it did seem very quiet with the number of people going in and car park was no where as full as it should be on a Friday, at least the burger van upset the management.

I was one of the 25 who did'nt go in. IOW1 is correct in saying that we were abused on the picket line, one person shouting out of the canteen window and i recieved a text message with a picture of a magazine cover with a person showing their middle finger, pissed off with this as i don't want to go running to the managment and grassing, but i am fighting to improve the conditions for these mugs. I have a girlfriend and 2 young kids to support, had to leave the picket line early as my missus did an extra shift at work just to cover the money we lost yesterday.. she has more bollocks than any of those that went in yesterday... if you know what i meaniow1 wrote:figures for the iow just been on the local radio plus union rep got a phone call while buying all the pickets a breakfast!!!! freshwater do full house all 17 out. ryde do 2 out of 60 were strike breakers. ventnor office all went to work!!!!! sandown no figures available here in a very wet newport 25 out of 80 out on the day. half a dozen on day off and refused to work. same again on their jolly holls.

2 from our place(to be confirmed) went to Erith.
Don't know whats worse, them crossing the line,or them in cahoots with our managers sorting out another office to go to.
When one came in our lino pulled him aside and was overheard saying 'they've found out about it,but i don't know how'

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
