About sums it up and you'll have to dig really deep to find anyone that sees national strikes as the answer, other than losing money. To hell with that. All this crap about supporting the union. Thought they were there to support members not the other way around. As for my reitement, AGAIN thats MY affair but feel free to do wild goose chase searches. I give nothing away that would lead you anywhere - just like the rest of you. Quite right too.
Pointless link,we can give out links all day.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

There were 2 points that i enjoyed from the JR interview (pr stunt) with "our" Adam C. 1. JR asked him "Why don't you resign?". And 2. My favourite quote of our leaders rant " London workers are 30% UNDERPERFORMING" Now that is priceless!! Also good to see that the CWU got a 40 second response on Sky. Cwu do not need to say a word as our "Adam" does it for them... :cfo
P.S. As for Night Tonic. Our office has people like you that think that as they have been a postie for 20-30+ years that they deserve the "lighter duties" you can away and work. You are constantly bad-mouthing hard working guys in offices that will have at least treble the amount of mail volume your little office gets. But i bet your one of the 1st to accept a new pay review even though you vote NO in the ballot, ya hypocrite.

Really?!!!....I think you need to get out more.
A friend of mine has made a petition about how RM is carrying on. Guess what?.... he has the signatures of over 200 local businesses that are totally against what the government and RM management are up to.
This petition is being handed to his local MP and by govenmental law he (the MP) has to have the petition read out in the house of commons.
My friend is a member of the public and also a business man.
It's negative people like yourself that make other European countries laugh at us.

FIX UP!!!

Well you can get as heated about it as you like but it still doesn't change my view and I don't see Adam quaking in his boots. Why would he? He has the backing of the two main politicial parties while Wardy has er....oh yes, none unless you count the duffel coat brigade.

Same old story NT, one day you might come up with something original (apart from your views on duffel coats, which you obviously have a fetish about :Very Happy )

The Agreement signed up to by both RM and the CWU contained a number of phases on which immediate national resolution was not found and to be left for area/local agreements to be found. The various elements of phases 1, 2 and 3 were drawn up and agreed at national/area/local level. Critically, phase 4 saw a setting up of joint working parties to discuss issues that were contentious within RM/CWU. The purpose of the working parties was to seek resolution to issues such as annualised hours, banked hours, new pay/profit schemes, introduction of monthly pay along with new guidelines/rules on improving industrial relations, etc.

It is fair to say that RM paid scant regard to the resolving the issues of Phase 4. So much so that 17 months after agreement should have been reached on the way forward proposed by phase 4, RM have only recently acknowledged that phase 4 merited discussion at national level between RM and CWU. Copies of recent letters exchanged between RM and CWU are evidence of that.

So it is somewhat hypocritical of Crozier to talk down to the CWU about opposition to modernisation, when RM has not made any real attempt to honour its obligations to the existing Agreement, which spoke specifically about issues affecting the present and future modernisation of RM. Anyone can pick specific elements of an Agreement to suit their own agenda, be it RM or CWU, it is only when the Agreement is applied as a whole that it can show its true worth.
