Im with most of you as regards,
keeping deliveries as early as possible. reverse the later and later trend.
as deliveries get later im running into more time related problems
You get out the office late and you got 1 special for every street .
if you do your round as normal?
you risk missing the deadline for some. or do a sweep round for specials-only then backtrack!
great, as i said im already late out.

also
Hitting the increased traffic of the school-run.
Missing automatic entry on flats -usually after 12.00pm.

And what happens when those hard workers don't work hard enough? I'm not sure what your office is like but mine is full of hard workers who have been pushed beyond their limits.

A lot of the "moaning"
on this forum is constructive criticism and its also highlighting where the business is failing .

there are some good ideas on this thread, it's a shame that the CWU or the Management won't bother reading it and acting upon it.

Get rid of the 'number crunchers' at Head Office ie the Executives inc the CEO, stick in there some people that have actually done the job, give them 6 months to come up with the 'way forward'.

get the government to back Royal Mail by letting them compete on equal terms to TNT/DHL et al, put money (£10 billion probably) back into the pension (as the banks have had enough now i believe) Get Full time staff in the DO's. You only need 1 DOM and 1 Line Man. Not 1 DOM and 3 line man.

this is why we are in a union to irradicate this kind of dicatorial nazi capitalistic comments, the reason why posties "moan about there jobs" as you say is because they are being given undoable work loads. Regarding your comment of posties being "too lazy" Royal Mail, the CWU and Health & Safety have an obligation to make our working day safe, which we appreciate and take full advantage of.
I believe there is another bitter manager in the making here comrades.

What makes you so sure that they won't read it? :hmmmm
We all know that there are Managers on here. So why wouldn't the Fat Cats take a look?
Wouldn't it be wise for them to see what we're saying?
Oh, wait a minute. What am I saying?
The Fat Cats, doing something wise?!?!?

I think a 9mm round behind the ear of everyone above PHG would be a good start. That's what the CNT/FAI did to the bosses in Saragossa and Catalonia in 1936. Now there's one Spanish Practice I'd like to see catch on here!

Sack those who take all day to deliver a pish easy delivery.
Sack people who are sick all the time.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

If you're right about it being an easy delivery. Then they already do face disciplinaries, which can of course lead to dismissal (try reading a few more threads, and you'll see). However, there are far more cases of people being falsly accused. Perhaps Managers should follow people around their Deliveries, if they think that they're not pulling their weight. Instead of simply comparing them to others, who could potentially be cutting corners with H&S (overweight bags for example). :hmmmm

They get ill health Retirement. Keep up, please. :d'oh!

Do they really?
Anyone else seen any evidence of this? :hmmmm
