Moved to Blue Shirts.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

starting
im afraid these days they hate to give training to anyone(it's the cost you know)
and with the rm 2000's they say you shouldn't need much (bollox)
so more or less your on your own.
years ago when we were on sections we helped new entrants but since dedicated duties we have no time to help anyone.sorry

Work place coaches are part of the set up now colleagues for the training of new entrants agreed nationaly with the union.I am the work place coach in my office and have been for about 2 -3 years ,South London along with a couple of other areas were used to trial coaches and as far as i know has due to the success been rolled out across the country. We have a 12 week training period covering all aspects of the job and in my own office i train them on my walk and after about 3 weeks they should be ok to be left on there own while i go on reserve for a few weeks. If they are ok after the 12 weeks they then go on to reserve duties which imo helps them learn i.p.s. and the area quickly,if there is a vacant duty which nobody wants they then pick that up. I must admit since coaches have been introduced the turnover of staff in my office and others has reduced big time.

We've only had one new entrant since she started as coach and the lad only lasted a week before he handed his notice in

Don't forget the training officers advice! "Right, tomorrow you're on your own. You won't be with me in the car so you'll have to find out which van to go on and where to have your pouches dropped off. Don't forget to get in very early so as you can finish within your duty time. See you pal!"kinmad4it wrote:I thought training consisted of "There's your letters, there's your flats, there's your packets, see ya"

Not forgetting that they wont mention any allowances you're entitled to. I remember telling someone back at my old office to make sure they claimed *pouching off* allowance. They hadn't a clue what I was on about.
