Anyone want to wish me luck

Post by Stormproof »

Got my Stage 3 in the morning for my AOD, hopefully the DOM will see sense. I've had no other absences for over a year apart from the AOD(6 days) in January and 3 days in July linked to my AOD leg injury. I've made an appointment to see my Dr in the morning aswell as I would like to have their opinion before I go in.
Saw the ATOS Dr last week who said 'Her last absence in July was for pain at the side of left knee. This is likely to be related to a fall at work in January 2009 when she was also off sick. She has had pain in the knee since the fall and she probably caused some minor bruising that led to chronic inflammation in one of the tendons, similar to 'tennis elbow' :crazy: I would expect this to resolve slowly in time although it may take several more months. She is having specialist treatment for the condition and I recommend you consider the last two absences to be for the same condition, related to an accident at work'
What do you reckon my chances are this time?
I'm finding it difficult to complete my walk at the moment as my leg is really hurting, should I have been on light duties? which I must add I've never been offered, infact they never asked me how my leg was when I returned, I've just kept taking the painkillers but now they don't mask the pain.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

best of luck stormproof. If you were issued an eairlier warning for the AOD the first time you were off with your knee appeal it now, you can't appeal stage 1's & 2's at the time of issue but you can appeal them at stage 3 level.

Wish you well sister Stormproof, and if it all goes wrong lodge an appeal, and if the appeal is unsuccessful you may have recourse to an Industrial Tribunal but that would have to be discussed through your Branch or CWU Legal Department, bearing in mind that there is a time limit for such issues.

In the meantime suggest you have a looksee at: http://www.bailii.org/nie/cases/NIIT/2004/2550_02.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And like brother Teebs posting it's fingers crossed and all the best.

I'm wishing you goodluck on your stage 3 although, any decent employer wouldn't make you go through this crap because of an accident.

Good luck! You really do need to get the knee looked at properly and assessed correctly - I had a knee injury which seemed to be OK and despite medical attention albeit years later - the knee is buggered and I will need a replacement.

Thanks everyone.
DVB i've seen someone from AMPS(Advanced Musculoskeletal Practitioner Service), I've had a steroid injection in my knee which did'nt help much and I have to attend physio every week(which I attend in my own time) for ultra sound massage on the affected areas, if this does'nt work another option will be surgery but obviously I'd rather not go down that route.
