The thing is RM only show these types of of DVDs about bullying and harassment when something as seriously happened within one of the offices that we have not heard about yet or the Equality and Human Rights Commission is on their backs again like the Equal Opportunites Commission were back in early 2000 :no no

A very high percentage of upheld complaints by women were re harassment by managers which meant RM had to put it's hype & spin machine to full steam ahead or it got investigated by the EOC .

You wonder if some of these sad very instuitionalized people have had very sheltered lives or have been released from a ins-tuition and had trouble dealing with women without staples through the middle , if it's not that , they must be married to some right trolls :hmmmm .

Best recent case was the DIM DUM from Glasgow who then was "
"conveniently" promoted & moved to DSM just after one complaint that was not upheld , then the girls at the old office got together and the complaints were partially upheld so RM were forced to sack him . He still took RM to tribunal but lost - enough said .

Our office as not seen the DVD yet, does it show any managers bullying because if it does not I will be very disappointed after what happen at Burslem and Bristol. Perhaps the CWU should make their own bullying and harassment DVD, do you think that this will get shown in WTL sessions? :hmmmm

Yes thats the one, I must admit I wasn't too interested and I have a short concentration span so 40+ minutes is a bit too much for me. I think I sort of lost the plot when they were all out socialising together. Now I have nothing against my colleagues but that is what they are, not friends, not family but people I work with and I don't socialise with anyone from work - ever.

Usually when DVD's are shown about bullying something serious has gone off in RM and we do not know about it yet, you wait and see. The CWU should make their own DVD on bullying and harassment but the thing is the bullying and harassment will be realistic.

I totally agree with you, I enjoy talking and having a laugh with people at work only the ones with common sense. As soon as I finish work I just want to be in the company of my family and friends. I have see so many posties at work seriously fall out with each other and it has had a serious impact on their lives outside work as well as inside work.

I think it's all the team work and team bonding b***ocks that RM are trying to promote as a " solution " , they'll never give up or miss a opportunity to push it , it's been going on for years . Sugar to swallow sh** with ? & sideline the union ?

I agree with posters saying all this going boozing together nonsense all ends in tears , worked in a social club for 4 years ; it was like a soap opera .

I've seen this team bonding down the boozer done due to pressure from on high onto the ex Collections Bay Strangler & Glasser , they targeted AG's that they hoped were too thick and naive not to see through it all , true to form it was all cocked up :Very Happy - stick to running Whelk Stalls boys ! - The Union thought it was hilarious but that nonsense was stopped though .

Best all left at the gate or in cyberspace eh ?

Joking apart all that Corporate Team Bonding Nonsense has satirized in " The Office " and " The Smoking Room " , however that was the mid 90's , RM seem to be behind the times and / or have a irony deficit .

I've actually seen it done prior to Privatization , they all got a 12 hr Time X 3 / 4 Sunday to go on a Outward Bound Course in the Lake District , pity the detested Area manager didn't go " missing " - " We appear to have lost a dwarf " :Very Happy - it would have saved the union & it's members a lot of bother .

Corrie satirized Outward Bound Courses - Ken Barlow only pushed supermarket trollies about but he had to go on one and suffice to say , it all went wrong . The other in vogue corporate one used to be the walk of fire . A Insurance Accident Claims Assessor got a payout for third degree burns  . There is a slight difference between literally and metaphorically :hmmmm .

With people I've seen from RM and going down the pub after work - The regulars would think a Sunshine Coach must have pulled up or someone is getting a grant from the Social Services to take them out for their liquid cosh & Care in the Community isn't working ? - You'd end up in the cells , the only team bonding I'd want to do would be through a spiritualist or a medium :Very Happy

I thought we were trying to be discreet - now everyone will know we are founder members of the Trapdoor Club - I hope this doesn't put the price of the lederhosen and open toed sandals beyond our reach - anyway we were fed up of being in the wardrobe :Very Happy

You're going to have to guess - maybe it's a hirsute fat suit and the roles are reversible - the videos are £3 each, the book £3, the hard copy is more expensive. :chuckle
