When we get a yes vote for national Industrial action, the union should use this action/oppertunity to work to rule "Doing the job properly"
Managment can't stand that

So pleased to see the words "work to rule" this action hurts RM but not the customers and not us postpeople. What I would realy like is for RM to stop lying about spanish practices when they are the one that introduced this to get the mail out due to staff shortages, but only when it suits them. Same as job and finish, what did we give up to get this. The most important thing though is openess, fairness and for managers to do their jobs properly and leave the coffee machine alone.

The bare bones of this dispute is to have a union that can negotiate terms and conditions and pay, So although not a gain just the same, but the most important vote and dispute we will ever have and if its a no vote it will be your last vote so vote YES.

At last, someone who has noticed that the CWU needs to modernise just as much as RM.

I would like to think that RM managers would come back with some form of respect for the staff up and down the country,to see that we had the courage to stand up for what we believe in,not to take things personally and not to take things into thier own hands and take umbridge with any member of staff.

To go back to being able to come to an agreement to find a level ground on what is the best way forward for the business and for the workforce,to make sure that the part time staff that have been taken on in this misarable situation are treated with respect and are only given jobs that are truley vaccant after all the corect procedures have been followed.

To make sure managers are clear that they can not beat staff with a black stick to do the job and to give us all the correct tools for the job,to be able to go back to providing the good service that we know we can provide to put us back on the map.

For all bonuses to be withdrawn from upper level management down to middle management to only get them given when they can prove that they have done some thing that will truley do something for the business with real results that can been shown and proved with evidence.

executive action is still being implemented within our unit even though strike action has been inforced, we have been informed that these executive action messures regarding job cuts and unrealistic delivery targets are still getting forced through until the national ballot results, eventhough the changes that have been already made have caused havok. We have casual labour employment whom are themselves getting disheartened with the continuious size of the deliveries they are being asked to perform, due the realistic fact that the regular posties, once they have completed the preperation of the delivery only and taken there full meal relief and taking into account the distance to travel to and from the delivery the time to actually do any delivery work is around 1hour 30mins
Stress is a major issue in our unit with a considerable amount of posties off work due to the change to the deliveries they are being forced to perform within the allocated time royal mail believe is realistic
What do I personally hope to gain from strike action good question!! I believe that once mindless senior management take there head out there arsses and totally understand that computers are not the be all and end all, then realistic deliveries can be achieved, to realy on computers plotting walks is insane, but then again a computer is only as good as the idiot feeding it the information.
I therefore say that involvement with the trade union at unit level is now than ever needed, as the stand off will be such that nearly all employees will either get EVR or IHR and this job will be from ages 18 to 35 p/t.
I also believe that all contracted senior managers should be automaticly sacked, all delivery office managers should be sacked (we have customer services to do that role now), bring back the PHG and one royal mail supervisor for every 200 OPG's and have one divional manager. spimpulz

I'm hoping from this strike, the CWU is absolutly decimated beyond repair.

If that comes around then the utopia of Royal Mail will be achieved, everyone will be employed as a RM casual at £6/hour, they'll have no pension or holiday pay and profits will sky rocket. And then Crozier can warrant his 3.5million pay/year (ok, including bonuses). Seems like this will become a reality with a tory government who will outlaw this industrial action and make sure every tabloid demonises the CWU. BTW what is Easter Saturday pay, i've been missing out.......

With the savings, Crozier can treble his bonus, and the management bonus scheme will filter through to every management level. Your manager will arrive on bonus day in new a car as you elect where you'll be pitching the new family tent recently bought from Argos for £200.

This is already the reality. They've already won. And whats worse, they know it. All thats left is for you to decide whats best for you.

I'm on Strike tomorrow, but the RM have already paid for a £120 hotel room for a manager from newcastle to cover my duty at £19/hour here in cambridge. If i earn £80/day, the RM will think nothing of paying £270 to cover me on a strike day. Add on top the emotional bullying from the screws and you realise there's more to it, the complete destruction of the workforce into a casual labour, only a phonecall away from unemployment.

I'm still more determined to go on strike. I just hope someone with more savvy shows the UK media the amount of bonuses the senior management are awarding themselves and disgust the nation with their fatcat society. Sadly, the fat cat society is something to be applauded these days so i'll doubt my life will ever get better.
