Listen Postman ...i understand what he was trying to say and hes right idont agree with him or is colleagues actions ,but the very fact that he has let himself be dragged down to their level reveals to me that he has no integrity or principals and no respect for himself or that of his fellow workers out on the cobbles trying to get better pay and conditions so that he and his "colleagues"dont have to rely on OT ....thats the trouble with workers today its the "IM ALRIGHT JACK " SYNDROME ,and also just because hiscolleagues "do it" does that make it alright NO ,he is just trying to justify his actions and try and clear his conscience ,we all have familys some of us only have 1 wage coming in with 5 kids to feed ,but we dont stoop down to the pondlife level ,so POSTGHOST stop talking shite and be your own man........sorry for the language postman.

Y'know, I actually typed up a 3 paragraph response that sums things up nicely, but I'm guessing it wont register with you.

Instead of a reasonable debate, you trail off on some bravado fuelled egotistical rant about INTEGRITY. Then you say I should be my own man........ :chuckle

Tell me, what do you actually bring to the table to support the CWU?
I'm really curious to know given you know so much.

I am quite happy to do overtime on most occasions EXCEPT when handling scab mail, when I or any of us refuse to do overtime handling scab mail, its one way of fighting back at RM, its not unofficial industrial action, as Overtime is voluntary they cannot make you do it, so look at it this way, if one Office on strike has their mail is diverted to another non striking Office and is refused on overtime, its TWO Offices acting together.

Of course if you are doing the Job properly and have no spare hours for them to utilise, there is nothing they can do to make you handle Scab mail, the only exceptionis if you are already on sorting duties etc, then do it up to your contracted hours not a minute more.

All of this is hurting them. :Very Happy

this is exactly whats wrong with this country..but lets not pretend your any differant.the person with no consideration for pedestrians who parks on pavement, the lazy basterd that parks on the busy road and leaves his driveway empty, parks on junctions, leaves their car doors open blocking the pavement.doesnt bother clearing the path to the front door because they use their side door..lets their bushes overgrow the pavement cant be arsed to use their indicators because they already know where they are going so fook anyone else.and who go on strike purley to make there own lives better, and think using emotional blackmail on everyone else who dares to do the same, all the time lying and preaching that its one for all and all for one.you couldnt give a xxxx about my work life or postghost's and we couldnt give a fook about yours

MODERATOR COMMENT:

I think there has been some confusion here. The Mail Centre Guys have mistook a Delivery Postie for one of their own. I think they think Postghost has deliberately taken blacklisted mail and sorted it on overtime.

However, as a Delivery Postie we have no way of knowing what is and what is not "scab mail" when it reaches our frames. What he is doing is taking overtime when it is offered on his delivery or someone else's - He is not - as far as I am aware - actively and knowingly sorting and processing it, he is merely delivering what is put in front of him.

Postghost, my reading of your post was that you were in a mail center and was happy to do OT to process diverted mail, obviously if your DO is not on strike you have to take out what comes in to you as normal, and any OT for going over is also fine. As TBT says i think your post didnt make it clear you were on delivery.
