If I could find the original article from 2007 where I'm sure the then Ambassador was apologised to I would certainly email the Embassy . :cfo

OK, who did it?
While reading the comments on the Mail article the following caught my eye.

"i'm still waiting for my valentine cards, no one loves me

- a crozier, london sw6, 10/9/2009 10:50"

let them put clocking machines in then we can all clock in and out, like to see the chaos when you have to get your way back in time to clock off, would suit me, by the time i caught the bus back i would leave mail every day, but at the moment i pouch off, this was an agreement with the union which allows for more work, but wait it cant be because the union only hinder change or so they say

What a load of rubbish, if any posties was conducting any form of spanish practrice I am very sure that the manager would be waiting to give the postie the conduct code, the managers are watching every posties move, this is a load of b*lls**t and the journalist has got it wrong.

Have you read some of the comments that have been written after the "article" (loosely used)

its the same old "lucky to have a job"/"get a better job"/"I have no symapthy for you" groups.

I would really love some of these people to have a day in our shoes. its really boiled my blood. They say we are selfish? because lonely rich housewife cant get her parcels shes orderd online with her rich husbands money?
So we should just back down and let them do what they want? B-0ll0cks to it.

I recall, when I was "green" that I went in at 4.30am the last day before Christmas. No O/T, special rate, just on a "Voluntary" basis, I later found out!
Normal start time was 7ish. Anyway, point is, we bend over backwards, only to get shot down. Job satisfaction seems to be evaporating, and appreciation for this and similar "favours" is never recalled/praised. Selective memory from Management.

As a youngster, I recall working 9am - 6pm in a posh clothes shop on Christmas Eve, going home, throwing down dinner and getting changed to help my Dad/Uncles deliver coal til midnight/early Christmas Day, so old ladies wouldn't freeze over the holiday etc. You do this for your Family, for no pay...but it's appreciated/welcomed by all, and you feel good about yourself.
You DON'T feel shafted, used, pissed on...

Some of the comments after the article are probably from employees that are in work for now, some employees cannot see that they might be next to lose their job. Since many employees in the UK have losted their jobs trade unions have been very busy (e.g. RMT, Unite, CWU and Unison) trying to save employees jobs and trying to negotiate better terms and conditions for their employees. If you want job security you have to try and fight and not give in. Due to the econmonic climate more and more employees are joining unions for protection. Yes! Some employees are 'lucky to have a job" but that is only because many unions have battled to keep employees in their jobs and remember if you are not in a union management will walk all over you and another thing unions are here to stay.

In our office we have people doing all of these things. Earning over £40,000.00 a year. BUT why are they doing it. Because they are covering people who have left, off sick or on holiday. The workforce is depleted so much now that RM here, are still paying loads of docket. Our drivers on average earn in excess of £32,000.00 per year. We have 4. And one earns over £40k. That's £63k in overtime roughly. Which is again roughly 3 more full time staff. Which is what we lost last year in cuts. (We are an office of only 22).

So once again RM figures are a scam, and just a way of Crozier earning bonuses.

If we had back the 3 extra staff we would have a job that hard work but comfortable. But NO, dues to Crozier's insistence of cuts cuts and more cuts we have this sham of a cost cutting exercise that simply does not work. I asked my DIM/DOM how this happens. His answer...... "Oh, that's a different budget."

:cfo Its pure lies.
