A PLANNED postal strike on Thursday has been called off.

Members of the Communication Workers Union (CWU) were set to take industrial action that would have affected deliveries in the CB1-5 and CB21-25 postcode areas.

A Royal Mail spokesman said: “We’re really pleased to confirm that the CWU have cancelled tomorrow’s action.

“This means that there will be no further disruption to your collection service – your collection will continue to operate as normal.

“We’re sorry for any disruption this may have caused to your mailing plans.”

However, on Monday a 24-hour postal strike is due to hit Cambridge and Ely over plans to make postal workers walk faster on their rounds.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

It's probably because someone messed up the wording on either the ballot or the notification to RM
