tbt
not what you say but how you say it.[/quote]

please m8 not this old chestnut

a debate should be where you try to changed the others perception though reasoning.not infantile jibes.

can you go back over all your posts and read how many times youve said this in an attempt to stifle debate.

tman if what used to take one bag now takes two(forget weight most of us posties couldnt give a four x.we stuff the bag to bursting)
then clearly the amont of mail addressed and unaddressed cant be less.its nothing to do with packets either cos most of us stuff them in our panniers.

mail "volumes "are a smoke screen used by the companies to prove they need to make cuts.just like many governments in the past before, they change the measuring stick this way and that to prove anything.long and the short of it is they made a profit, the best in many years and thats after pumping millions extra into the pension fund, paying lots of solictors fees and compensation.

but thats just my opinion m8 take it or leave it :cuppa

Must be a breeze blowing between someones ears, if not several. Bag weight equals volume? And this is supposed to be an informed source of information? Good grief....

Hello
As an owner of my own business and therefore a manager - who knows nothing about the daily practice within RM i would like to say something after looking over your comments.
If i had X amount of stuff coming every day that my employees had to take out - and they could only take out a certain weight per time for H&S reasons....and if the amount of stuff started reducing i would probably need to reduce my workforce somewhat. However, if - so i could cover the same areas and therefore the same amount of customers, it would be obvious to me that the remaining people who worked for me were working harder. As they still are only meant to take a certain weight limit but were (as a result of reducing staff) having to cover a larger area. And i would value my employees very much to be honest with you. Maybe its time that managers from big businesses came to learn a bit from us smaller businesses. And maybe even try the work your employees have to do.
I adore my staff, and i tell you this. Will all the financial uncertainty i have had this year - i could not have done it without them. And when i can, i reward them. And even if i dont, they know they are appreicated.

You ADORE your staff that's why you are not or never could be a Royal Mail manager, most probably because you are a HUMAN BEING god that's rare in management. :chuckle

its not rare really....thing is when you work somewhere and work your way up its different. like when you start something working for yourself then able to have people to work for/with you...... this is how it should be
people that go to college and then uni etc JUST to be a manager - have no soul. They are made up to just think about targets and figures etc - its like thats the only thing that makes them feel good. Meeting a target makes them feel worth something, and they think it makes people like & respect them. Bit like the school bully. To be honest, and company that employes managers and or trainee managers are silly. They should at least be made to work at the forefront for a year so they understand the work involved and the chain....
But as i said, they need to massage their egos and have no soul. Most that is, not all

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

No not necessarily, its items per household is what counts and this is not in decline! as not all mail centres count each individual item this will be a problem and until they do they will never have a true account of how much mail is in the system.

Remember 200 is greater 100! just incase you were struggling of what MORE is!
CUT OFF!!!
