Well went in from 0350 untill 0715 got soaked to the skin and by that time only seven strike breakers had crossed the line. We said to one Thankyou for your support and he promptly told us to f**k OFF. Well in the morning our unit rep is going to see if the management will enforce the no verbal obuse policy.Then again it prob only applys to strikers. But yes we had hot coffee and loads of sarnies cakes the atmosfere was very good and well attended. Just going back there now to see how things are going :cfo :lfo :cfo :lfo

I can't stand on picket line or in town centre handing out leaflets (health grounds)

There's no way that I could ever consider crossing a picket line so I've been stay-at-home mum.

Day with little boy much better than day with RM management.

just got back from my 4hr stint on picket line , very good turn out and only 4 strike breakers but 4 too many . word was that whole of nottinghamshire has had a high percentage of people striking . good result i think lets keep the pressure on lads /lasses and protect our futures. :lfo :cfo :cfo :lfo

Did 4:00-7:30. At 7:00 Night staff informed us no one was in so that's 0/97!!!!!!!
Got a delivery coming from Argos but that's gonna be here in 15 so I'm going back to stand with the collection drivers (I got soaked this morning so I'm gonna catch some rays with the others)!!!!!
Leighton was supposed to be on BBC Breakfast News this morning but because of a bomb-carrying vehicle being found in Central London He wasn't spoken to, now I'm not putting 2 & 2 together but?????? :lfo :cfo

100% out at Sale DO - Good natured but damp picket with plenty of support - lots of good wishes from customers - office locked up and vacated by managers at 07:45 after gas parts collected by BG area manager - british gas engineers did not cross the picket. Great feeling going to the picket line on the bus at 07:00 with the driver and passengers saying they supported us.

3 union + 1 non union went in at my office - two "were" good mates - guess that will change now.

By 6am we were soaked and as there were only a handful left on the line it was decided to call it a day and go home to get dry. No one else would be going in and as none of the strike breakers were in uniform we knew none of them would be out delivering.

Just dried out from my picket duty of 3.30am-9.30am. Unfortunately about 20% of our office of 85 went in plus a mystery person who I presume came from another office? He sneaked passed in plain clothes before we realised and then saw him and one of the split personality postman/managers go out in a van in plain clothes - where's the security there.

4 lorries crossed the picket line - but we stood fast and the s***s were escorted out of the office at 9am smirking, however, local paper there at the time so had to explain to them and was taken as intimidation.

General public well and truly on our side. Local hairdresser provided brollies and use of facilities, union rep. wife provided bacon rolls and hot drinks, a member of the public even gave us a huge bottle of whiskey!!

and lots of thumbs up - horn blowing etc.

Heard the SE area in general all out but 60 - St Leonards 1 went in, Hastings about 12

yeah the s.e put on a good show mate weather shite though the suns out now time to get back down there i might make a day of it,i just missed the press im gutted

Very pleased to report that no one turned up for work at our office. Lorry driver arrived with the feed but wouldn't cross the picket line. He unloaded the mail outside the yard and the managers had to come out and wheel it in. Let's keep up the good work.

was there from 4 - 9.30

strike breakers were out in vans doing packets i think (no uniform)

and 2 managers were in a van with specials

the good thing was that none of our 12 p/t 22 hour posties crossed

every one of them joined the union

Seems like a pretty good result nationwide. lets see RM try and undermine the strike like they did the ballot

the fore brigade even brought us 2 bags full of rolls on sausage
quality!!!

Just got in,was on the picket line at West Park Plymouth at 3.45am and now i'm shagged!!! Unfortunately 3 full timers went in,4-5 part-timers ,a few bag carriers (20 hour a week people who come in,pick up a couple of bags of mail and deliver it)and 2 ass lickers who do the computer work in our office. One of the part-timers is a good mate,can't see me forgiving him for being a scab.
But overall it was a good morning,loads of us on the picket line,plenty of hotdogs,bacon baps etc eaten. We got soaked earlier but it was great knowing we're sticking together.

100% solid, had 16 on picket line from possible 35, great support from public. All got soaked, but stuck it out from 530 till just after 10am. Todays support from public has been great for morale, made us stronger as an office hopefully the message will go further a field.
