Executive action is changes to terms and conditions by management with out negotation
Attendance patterns differ through out the business since pay and mod was agreed in 2007.Alot of offices work different structures, some have 5 day weeks, some have 9 day fortnights, some work 6 weeks then have a week off and some work 4 day weeks. This is common in London and management dont like them as they see them as inefficent compared to 5 day weeks which is there favoured duty structure. We have a national agreement which covered 4 day weeks which offices gave up lots of savings to achieve, but now management want to stick 2 fingers up to this agreement which they signed and take away these duty structures by force. This will cost people in days off and earnings which was also agreed in pay and mod 2007.This and the threat of part time jobs is why we must fight and return a Yes vote in the national ballot.

I just dont get it - if this was their part of agreement how can they change it leagally. Seems that the word 'flexability' was to meant to sound nice and team-ship like then to be used against workers when RM went in to the kill. Why do they hate their staff so much. Its this sort of stuff CWU should be putting out to the public. I will personally write on all my post that i do not want the money from MY stamp that i worked hard for - to be used towards Croziers bonus.

I have a niece in the North East, she started a few months ago 4pm-7pm on collections, whereas in our office due to EA
being forced through we have 4 Hybrid duties 10-6 A delivery all ready to pick up and then collections after their break.

They would be turned in to duties i guess :whistle

There is a danger of that happening in my D.O, we have 6 out of our 15 rurals as smaller rurals but with IPS to make up their time.

Once the indoor time is all but eradicated due to sequenced mail and walksorted flats I suspect that proposals to fill the duty by adding on a SA will materalise.

has your dom tried using the indoor workload tool yet telling you you are to slow and that you should have finished your walk in time as thats what is going on down here in Essex and people daily being threatened with taken of pay for not completing.

dingo wrote:Executive action is taking place in East , South west , South East , North London and North West London over the next few weeks. They range from removing 4 day weeks to removing all assistants from vans to whole scale walk revisons being imposed.

Royal Mail are hoping to impose all revisons before the National Ballot result is known. In South East 1 they are removing 56 duties but they will still have these 56 on the pay roll as they have no plans on how to remove the surplus as no VRs are being offered and the revison is due to be implemented on the last monday in September. Streatham is being introduce from next week which has a surplus of 37. But we have revisons being implemented in E1 ,E14 E3 , E4 , SW1 , SW15 and loads of others. Royal Mail have decide to abolish resigns and seniority. They now give duties out by either drawing names out of a hat or by giving duty number 1 to seniority number 1 then duty 2 to the second on the seniority list and so on.

Up the road yes we can all criticise the fact it has taken 4 months to get a national ballot and has left some of us isolated. But the truth is could London have waited and the answer is no we had to fight when we did or we would have betrayted those members in london who had revisons imposed in June. Lets be in no doubt had we not fought Royal Mail in London then they would have introduce far more changes and they would have done so without any resistane. Plus when we balloted there were no national talks now we have negoations and yesterday for the first time ever Royal Mail met with the CWU on a strike day. Next week there are 3 more days of negotaitons scheduled.

Now in terms of all out strikes been there and done that and it is hard and had we adopted that tactic we probably would have lost a number of offices and would have seen some drift. Plus lets examine stoke they went all out and credit to them for that but the result is that the work and themslves are still being moved to Wolvehampton. So just becuasue you go all out you dont necessariy win.

Plus lets be under no illusions this strike is hurting them. 10 million items are still in the system , reg has failed , mailsort is all over the place. South London mail centre as off 0900 today had 240 RSCs on the platform another 130 still to be unloaded plus todays arrivals of appox 240 and also appox 200 yorks. That is without the outward.

So the strike is working the tide is turning and managers are getting disillunisoned and the recvions are failng.

We are getting stronger they are getting weaker. South West London have called action the whole of next week and the rest of london are out next wednesday.

Lets not turn inward as only royal Mail will benfit. Stay strong stay united and vitory will be ours.
Stay strong stay united victory will be ours, well said you sound just like Winston churchill. :Applause
