Hear! Hear! .. this Labour government does need to be called into account for its actions in respect of its breaches of manifesto etc which have proved detrimental in particular to CWU members ...

Time for bed, and a think on how to break the news of possible ballot delays to members tomorrow without getting lynched! .. :hmmmm

Here we go again,on off on off. A cynic might say there's a rat in the kitchen. It's not as if the need for these lists has been sprung on anyone at short notice, so why were the incompetent slackers not chased up in good time to avoid any delay to the ballot? Fishy

There is no way the union will call strikes over the christmas pressure period, they will be suspended and started again in the new year. As for the delay if ineptitude was an Olympic sport the CWU would wind win gold, silver and bronze no other team need enter.

Measures have been taken to ensure those branch"s are contacted and the membership is confirmed.

Frustrating or what !!!!!!!!!!!!

Time to get tough. If they want meaningful discussion perhaps striking over Christmas is the only way to guarantee RM come to the table.

 I really think it is time to stop paying our dues as a mark of protest____-the way things are going, it is quite obvious the 'Leadership''do not really want us out . this has been rumbling on since FEBRUARY.

dingo wrote:The Labour party ballot is a fair question and one we are on the same page on. We have wrote to Billy asking for E6 to be activated.

In the meantime all the London membership will be balloted on whether they believe we should fund the labour party from next week . We will announce the result the week before the Labour party conference and will use it to put pressure on the labour governement and the labourites within our union.

we would encourage others to do the same. Our members deserve to have their say on the labour party and we in London will allow them that from next week,
We may not always see eye to eye but I admire the way that London and you in particular, without appearing sycophantic, has led the way and are forcing HQ to actually make some attempt to defend the membership, be it working practices or affiliation. It really is a pity that there is not the same will at HQ.

Ive got a lass at my place sacked after her third stage 3 and HQ cant even make a decsion on to support her or not at her forthcoming tribunal in a reasonable amount of time.

Its even taken them forever to get the paperwork to the solictors.

Some things should get automatic help at tribunal, especially if its not conduct related.

this should have been done 2 years ago but better late than never, labour have been no friends of the union since they came in.

I'm not being funny here but after a third Stage 3 I might want to make an evaluation of the situation myself before actually committing any resources. :hmmmm

Again we see the people at the top of the CWU making a balls this should be the biggest thing on their agenda at the moment so there is no mix ups (WE NEED GOOD AND STRONG LEADERSHIP)and if they are going to call on people to strike then they should be 100% up for it and get themselves organised.
RM have had the chance to talk it is now time for us to make it clear that what is being asked of us is impossible We have been told many lies over the years by RM so why would we believe what they say now anyway,it is good practice for a union to go into talks with a business but it has to be about something that is achievable. This union has to start thinking, can these changes be achieved. It is getting to the point in this job that it is not worth working at anyway.

TIMETABLE FOR THE NATIONAL BALLOT.......30 DAYS.

THE FACT THAT CWU HQ COULD`NT GET IT RIGHT AGAIN ......PRICELESS !!

THERE`S SOME THINGS COMPETENCE CAN`T BUY.......
FOR EVERYTHING ELSE THERE`S BILLY HAYES !!
:Very Happy

By the sounds of it hayes got a royal pasting at the Unite HQ rally!

We cant start saying things like dont pay dues or every member trying to get out of striking or wanting an excuse to leave the union would jump on it!

We need a rank and file movement to take back control of the union from the officials - the likes of hayes and ward shouldn't earn 80000 a year, they should be on the average postal wage and get a pay rise once we've won one. That might make them better fighters. :hmmmm
