DOOR TO DOOR AGREEMENT:PDF

Post by POSTMAN »

Everybodys favourite, and a topic that has been well versed on RMC.
The D2D agreement is the latest and only one available despite it being from 1996.
And yes in the agreement several times it clearly states that all D2D work are to be done in duty time and if needed extra payments (overtime) can be payed (at the Managers discretion)if the duty holder is to go over their duty time because of them.

Good afternoon

Thank you for your email.

It was agreed with the CWU in the 1995 addendum to the national agreement
(and the subsequent joint statement) that Door to Door mail is paid for
separately via unit payment, and is due to be absorbed within normal duty
time in existing deliveries. For this reason the workload associated with
the product is not taken into consideration when planning revisions.

This is the agreement that is currently in force, and it means that Door to
Door is left out of workload, but must be sorted and delivered along with
the other mail during existing duty time
with no additional hours.

Delivery is compulsory under the agreement, and the only real difference
with other mail is that it is currently paid for separately.

kind regards

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Those were the days - when it was in black and white - no if ands or buts - clear concise instruction from a union that knew what it was doing. None of the airy fairy "local agreement, depending on the circumstances, flexibility, sliding scale for delivery" crap. Everyone knew where they stood, it's only in recent years you see people in doubt - maybe branchs should get a bit more involved.

the thing that bothers me is why some posties get away with not doing the d2d's for mon & tues and leave me to complete all in 3-4 days wed-sat meaning 25% or 33.3% per day.

Good afternoon

It was agreed with the CWU in the 1995 addendum to the national agreement

This is the agreement that is currently in force, and it means that Door to

Delivery is compulsory under the agreement, and the only real difference
with other mail is that it is currently paid for separately.

I don't know who this guy is but he seems to have conveniently forgotten Amendment 6 to that agreement. Which states that time is allowed in the duty time for preparation and delivery - and I know that is true because I checked just recently.

There is an amendment to this agreement, Amendment 6 which states that within the existing duty, time will be made for prep and delivery. It may be called the manchester agreement.
