Unless Plymouth Mail Centre are working ( which I am sure they wont ) this office will not get any work anyway.manwithnovan wrote:Sad thing is PL17 Callington Cornwall are working tommorrowDirtyHarry wrote:Totally agree.mailman71 wrote:how any union member can even think to go to work on friday baffles me what's the point of paying union dues if you dont take their advice.

lorries going into our offices normal time as drivers to finish their shifts first so they should have stuff to do but the strike breakers in my DO have been told that they won't be kept very busy, and dum promised to make bacon butties in case they smell the barbie and get jealous. Personally I wish they all had to go to MLOs that frightens the s..t out of them.

STRIKE STRIKE STRIKE
We have been told by our DUM who likes to think he runs things that the offer of using the office car park has been withdrawn for striking employees. As the parking on the road is limited he is hoping that not to many of us will turn up , but he will be shocked as we have made alternate plans for parking. We have also got a rota system in place so the office will be maned all day CROSS THE LINE AND YOU SHOULD BE MADE TO SIGN ROYAL MAILS CONTRACT FOR DESTRUCTION. :lfo :cfo :lfo :cfo

In my mind you are - If you cross the picket line you are saying you accept Royal Mails position and don't agree with the union. So take the 2.5% and all the strings you can do the extra work for a pay cut - but me I'm in this for the long run until Royal Mail change their mind.coppertop wrote: CROSS THE LINE AND YOU SHOULD BE MADE TO SIGN ROYAL MAILS CONTRACT FOR DESTRUCTION. :lfo :cfo :lfo :cfo

Just a note to say thanks to all who wished my wife well. There is a great bunch of people on here and you are very much appreciated.
In the workplace in today's Britain we seem to be nothing more than an acquisition valued only by your profitability, when you no longer hold any value those in power will cast you aside, and that includes you strike breakers. If any of you 'top brass' are reading this consider the words of Joe Strummer, " ...people can change anything they want to, and that means everything in the world. Show me any country and there'll be people in it. It's time to take the humanity back into the centre of the ring and follow that for a time. Think on that, without people you're nothing".
Good luck to all tomorrow.

It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.
