Yes I know it might be teaching Grandma to suck eggs but look at step 6 on the Main Steps column, and its an official RM document.

Yes, TBT, Step 6 certainly removes any ambiguity regarding the preparation of D2Ds.

is this document still valid hope it is it give us something else to show the dim when they try it on again which is at least twice a year.

It is point 7 that annoys me, how are you supposed to know if you will finish in time or not, especially if your new and on a different walk everyday. I have had many arguements with DOMs about this, what if something unforseen happens when you are out there, its a BS rule if you ask me...

I would go to him and say that as this is a new walk I believe I will not be able to complete and as per the instructions I am informing you. The instructions do not say you have to know you will not be able to complete they say "believe that you will be unable to complete". As long as you have told them and asked for instructions there is nothing then can do in good conscience.7. Should you believe that you will be unable to complete your delivery route by the end of your scheduled duty end time, you must inform your Line Manager.
This must be done at the earliest opportunity and no later than completion of delivery preparation and prior to pouches or trolleys being packed.
If you believe you are unable to complete whilst out on the duty we are told to contact the manager on a number given by them for just this sort of thing.

Should this doc be on display on notice boards in the office, or would it be tucked away in a manager's drawer? Is this available on the RM intranet? Is this a current document that should be adhered to now?
I ask so many questions because if I produce this document in the heat of battle I want to feel 100% confident that it is an official Royal Mail document. Does it have an official name, ie is it called '182 Prepare for Delivery' or something else? I want to be able to show it the manager to back myself up, and I want to be able to say something along the lines of "go and look at it for yourelf on the intranet, or in the back of the DOM's drawer"!!!

Use Open Office most of us on here do.

A friend at my office has made a misdelivery to the same address twice in a year resulting in a repeat complaint and as a result the manager has taken his duty off him. Now something tells me he is supposed to offer him some councilling or training if needed. He also got 2 years on his record. Is there any document on the official procedures for managment to follow in a case like this?
