On a more serious note the more MP's are contacted by individuals rather than just the CWU the better.

I can only get my MP to respond all others wont as I dont live in their patch so out of 10 MP's I can only deal with one yet im a political officer. Parlimentary convention Im afraid being taken a little too seriously !!!

Unfortunately, for every MP like him, there are a dozen who are more interested in having their moat cleaned or paying for their husbands porn addiction than providing the service they were elected to do.
Don't be to sure about Mr Foster,He was asked to stand with us at our Keep the post public day in Hastings.
To say his responce was Frosty would be an understatement. :nervous

During the 2007 dispute he attended an open air meeting, photographer in tow obviously. I wasn't impressed with his answers then, but he has continued to support us. Like all politicians, I wouldn't trust him with my wallet, but he's among the best of a bad lot.

Yes, there are quite a few MPs that will probably be against all this. BUT, you should still email them - a personal email. Invite them to have an appointment with you to discuss working conditions etc - they have a duty to you as you are a member of THEIR public. The more of you that speak to your MP the more may speak out. To be honest, even though im a member of the public supporting you - i am a bit confused. I only know personally what goes on in 1 office and im disgusted about what happens there. The one thing i am confused about are the arguements about the machines. I thought that one of the reasons for strikes is the extra work being put on you without the machines brought in (as in, if the machines were there then you could manage the extra work as you wouldnt need to spend time sorting). Is this the case? Even though the machines would take away sorting jobs? Or are you against the machines being installed full stop?!

:mfo had them in the office in fours for pep talks re privatization - " It's to protect the pension , nobody is bothered bar the unions " . A certain seaside MP said " Peter it's a long time since you've been a MP , I think you're a bit out of touch ; If you said that in my constituency , you'd get lynched " . :mfo raised his eyebrows . Some MP's are excellent like ex PO , Geraldine Smith , she absolutely wiped the floor once with :lfo over those " Joe Maplin " type letters he sent to staff .
